Kevin Moon never failed to surprise me.
I was well aware that he really kept his word, that he would prove himself. So, it had never been a thing for me to believe when he said we should enjoy today, something that we should've done back a year ago. He wanted to make up to me and it was proven.
However, what surprised me more today was how he enjoyed himself. 12 years of knowing him, never once did I ever witness him being so energetic, so random and so noisy in public. He wasn't fond of physical activities but today, he was screaming his heart out, jumping and even running from ride to ride. At one point, I personally thought that he and Chanhee were competing against each other.
Competing for who would lose the voice first.
It was a culture shock at first for me to see. He resembled a drunkard man somewhere in a quiet alley which I would absolutely avoid if I had to pass by. My soul almost left my body when he started screaming at my face 'why the blue one fell' at the shooting game where he aimed for a pink teddy bear to give it to me.
But, as time passed by, I had adapted well and I found myself a while later trying to catch up with his personality. I felt fresh despite hours of walking around the wide area, it wasn't even tiring. For, his companion alone was enough to energize me.
"Close your eyes," he suddenly requested after coming back from somewhere where I was ditched at a drinking booth where Chanhee was making the order for the three of us.
"Why though?" My curiosity was clouding so widely that I couldn't even fulfil his request in one go. Who knew what would happen if I did so anyway?
Kevin started to get frustrated when I kept refusing. He even widened his eyes as to intimidate me but I was sorry to say that he did not scare me even a bit.
"Just trust me!" He whined in a higher octave which instantly made me laugh.
"Okay, okay..." I said in between another fit of laughter.
As requested I closed my eyes, hoping that I was still resembling a princess with eyes off. I did not wear this exclusive set spring collection just to look like a toad hoping to get a kiss from a prince charming.
Let's be honest. Was there anyone who wouldn't freak out when there was pure silence as soon as we were greeted by darkness? I almost lost my breath and I swore my face had fallen a bit just because I thought I was ditched. If Kevin was thinking to prank me like that, I wouldn't hesitate to yell that it wasn't funny and would start crying. Never mind if that would only embarrass me.
But, none of those happened and blood started to flow smoothly through my every vein when I heard a rustling sound from next to me and Kevin's voice whispering wait a minute.
For him, I could've waited for another hour.
"Now, open your eyes," he said with a gleam which I suspected he was smiling.
When I found him closer to me at the table we sat by, I didn't notice the things in his hand. I was drawn to his face - at the purity his smile held and the way his orbs glowed with so much happiness I did not dare to wipe out. I hoped those would always be there for me and always mean for me.
I would want to be the reason for that happy face to be seen.
"Ivy?" Kevin called with concern tinting his voice, probably wondering why I didn't breathe. Because I did not. Suddenly, I forgot how to breathe. He beckoned to his hands and I flinched, immediately remembering that he assigned me to a task.
But, then, I didn't know how to react.
In his grasp, there were two keyrings made of acrylic. The fact that they were custom-made was enough to hang my jaw open at the sight. My hand unknowingly reached for the one in his right hand. It was shaped into a layout of a girl's head facing a crescent. I immediately knew he must have drawn it before requesting for the professional to shape it on the acrylic.
