"This is not weird, right?"
It was the first question I asked, giving a nasty look to the demeanour next to me who was shoving a popsicle in my direction.
"Eating ice cream at night?" Sangyeon asked back, shoving the popsicle further towards me. "Who's going to judge us for having cold things in summer? Let alone it's nighttime. And... aren't we always weird?"
At the last point he said, I burst into laughter. He got the point if I needed to say.
Sangyeon helped me with the wrapper before passing it to me. He bought a dozen from the shop somewhere nearer for all of us with a reason of coming empty-handed was a crime.
As the coldness roamed around my mouth, I glanced over my shoulder from the lounge chairs, watching all of my friends in their own way enjoy the popsicles. Some were discussing the flavour and some were just enjoying the sweetness in silence, recharging their energy before we would start to cook for dinner.
But, I couldn't find Kevin anywhere within the area. Perhaps, he went to the bathroom?
Haknyeon sparking a rumour within the small circle consisting of him, Chanhee and Jacob were what had shifted my attention. Sangyeon never bought us anything, he whispered which made me instantly giggle just by reading the movement of his lips.
"It's been so long since the last time I saw you laughing," considering how Sangyeon spoke to me like that, I assumed that I was caught red-handed. "Does this trip your boyfriend planned heal you well?"
Slowly, the smile on my face faded. The memory of yesterday came briefly into my head.
"I had an attack yesterday," I admitted, Sangyeon shifting in his seat and releasing a sigh. "I'm fine! Kevin took care of me well."
Another sigh escaped his lips as he let his head fall forward. Thank God, he mumbled which I managed to catch. Then, Sangyeon seemed to remember something as he exclaimed and reached for it next to the chair.
"I nearly forgot about this," he shoved a small pink paper bag to me. "This is from that Sunwoo boy. I contacted him yesterday as per your instruction and he asked me to give this to you. He got this sent to Haknyeon."
I chuckled, peeking inside the bag - a box of chocolate inside with a letter, in the process. This boy was kind of cute. I vividly remembered every little thing about him when we met before. But, what surprised me was, that he never looked like someone who would jump into trouble like this by defending me. If anything, he looked like someone who would run away from any trouble.
"I would want to speak to him when I'm ready," I said, sucking the popsicle in my mouth. "He somehow intrigued me."
"He has his charms," Sangyeon seemed to agree, nodding into the space.
Just then, an idea popped into my head making me jolt up. Sangyeon probably was shocked by my sudden action, I saw him slightly flinch.
"I want to read this letter with Kevin," I announced, swiftly spinning on my heels towards my friends.
I heard Sangyeon chuckle but when I glanced back at him, he was already on his feet, ready to follow me. Did I look like a toddler who needed 100% care and attention for him to follow me around?
"What's hot?" I queried as soon as I stood in the middle between the rooms - girls on the left and boys on the right.
"Nothing..." Haknyeon was quick to deny it, proving that he somehow had done something wrong. I gave him a look - I know what you did, I said through my eyes which he then roamed his gaze around, avoiding eye contact.
