Flashback: Isaac, 2026-2027 season
__
He was officially a contender to win his ninth title in 2026, he's married and he has a wife waiting at home. Earlier he was asked what he was going to do during the long break and he told everyone in the media pen that he'll be spending some time with his partner. He could see Max turned his head so fast towards him, probably trying to draw a conclusion. There's nothing he could do.
Lewis walked into their room with a big smile on his face, he has never felt so giddy after a pharmacy run. He handed the paper bag to her and sat himself beside her, taking out the different boxes of pregnancy tests he bought.
"You bought nine?" she asked, staring at him and he just smiled at her sheepishly.
"Nine for nine titles, maybe it'll be good luck." He teased and gave her a quick peck on her cheek when she just gave him a glare. "Are you nervous?" he asked, when she just kind of stared at the boxes.
"I don't know," she started, "maybe." She added, then she put her head on his shoulder. Her hair is tickling his nose so he manoeuvred her so she's tucked under his arm instead.
"We're going to be okay," he whispered, "do you want to try a few?" he asked in hope to distract her. He knows his wife, she needs to be distracted.
"Sure," she said, sitting up straight and starting to make her way to their bathroom. "Or should I do all of them?" she asked, confusion written all over her face.
"Ah, should we sacrifice one of our cups?" he asked jokingly (not really), walking with her into the bathroom.
That made her laugh though and that is a win on his part, "gross. I'll just do a few," she said scrunching up her nose. "Why are you here?" she asked, hand on his chest to stop him from coming in further.
"You don't want me to see something?" he teased and laughed when she gave him a nod like duh, "I've seen everything, that's why we're here." He teased and winked at her, but walked away anyway.
Nora lets out a disbelieving laugh and throws a cotton ball towards his direction, before shutting the door with a faux pout. After fifteen minutes, they flipped the tests that she laid on top of a piece of toilet paper on the counter. Before she could say anything, he picked her up with a laugh.
"Oh my god!" He exclaimed, peppering kisses all over her face, "thank you, thank you, thank you," he said repeatedly, his heart pounding so hard. Felt nothing like winning a championship, this was more.
This right here was beyond winning a title, he won in life.
They stared at each other, both of their eyes were teary. "I love you," he whispered, and kissed her softly before hugging her tight.
After the two week break, they started talking about what they're going to do. Both know this conversation was bound to make an appearance, she just didn't expect they'll have this conversation so soon. It's mostly because her main "craving" has been spending time with him, just being clingy (more than usual, Lewis would argue). Not that he's complaining, quite the opposite actually.
"Would you want me to use my exit clause?" Lewis asked her softly, no hint of annoyance in his voice. He would do it in a heartbeat. He's tied with a two year contract with Mercedes, with one more year after the 2026 season. But, he'd use the exit clause in a heartbeat.
She shook her head quickly, "no, no. I don't think that's necessary."
Lewis manoeuvred them both into a more comfortable position on the bed, with her head on his lap and his back to the bed frame. "We did say that we're not going to try unless I'm retired," he reminded her.
