Mama's Boy

Overwhelmed

I can't explain what it was like having chase back, I'm so glad mama let him sleep in my bed because I missed him so much. His soft fur was brushing my hand as I slept and I woke up with his slobbery tongue on my face. I couldn't help but giggle.

"Chase nooo" I giggle until the licking stops. Mama had lifted him out my crib onto the floor before wiping my face with a warm cloth.

"Rise and shine baby, how was your nap" Mama smiles at me, Its like it's just me and her again. I can't really say anything even though I try.

"Mama" I say before squealing happily, clapping my hands and wiggling my feet. Mama laughs too.

"Yes that's right dove, I'm mama. Such a smart baby" Mama's praise feels like warm sun. It's all fuzzy and nice, it's like she understands me because I can't say much but she still smiles at me and acts like I am still talking like a grown up. "Let's get some yummy in your tummy baby" I am hungry, I didn't eat before my nap...

I have been breastfeeding a lot more recently though because I don't really want solids. I like the smell of mama when I feed, her milk is so sweet and her skin is really soft against mine. I don't really like baby bottles, I don't like the rubbery nipple bit. Russo doesn't seem to mind but he only breastfeed when he is feeling really little. I do it a lot more but mama never complains, she has tried to get me onto bottles but I hate them.

Mama lays me across her lap and let's me latch on. I gently suck as mama reads on her phone, mama usually reads when I feed. Sometimes she hums or sings which I like. "Mama, sing eese" she looks down at me with a smile. I latch back on and she starts to sing.

"Hush, little baby, don't say a word, Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird.
And if that mockingbird don't sing, Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring.
And if that diamond ring turns brass, Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass.
And if that looking glass gets broke, Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat,
And if that billy goat doesn't pull, Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull.
And if that cart and bull turn over, Mama's gonna buy you a dog named Rover.
And if that dog named Rover won't bark, Mama's gonna buy you a horse and cart.
And if that horse and cart fall down, well you'll still be the sweetest baby in town." Her voice is soft and gentle as she sings. I'm finally full and mama rubs my back making me burp. She changes my diaper then brings me downstairs.

Russo, Charlie and Leah are all in the garden with Damon and Chase. Mama sits me with the other three and she sits by Damon. I don't want mama to leave me, but I guess I'll play. They have a lot of toys out so I pick up a dinosaur.

"Riley do you want to play dolls with me" Leah asks me with a smile holding dolls in her hands. I take one and shake it giggling, the hair looks so silly as it shakes. "No, that's not how you play dolls it's like this" Leah moves the dolls on the grass and make them talk to each other, I copy her but I just babble when they talk.

"He doesn't want to play dolls, that's a girl's game. He wants to play dinosaurs" Russo says smacking the doll out my hand. He makes his dinosaur rawr so I copy him with a gentle rawr.

"That's not fair, Riley was playing dolls with me" Leah complains so I pick up the doll and play quietly with the doll and dinosaur. Both of them are now yelling at each other and being so loud. Charlie has even joined in yelling but I don't know why... I get really nervous when they all turn to me. "Riley you choose who you want to play with" Leah says.

"Choose me, or else it's not fair we are brothers" Russo says which is true, maybe I should-

"No me, I'm your cousin and your bestest friend" Leah is my best friend...

"Ignore them you should come with me, those two are boring" Charlie buts in... All three are talking over each other and it's so loud. I can't think, no room to breathe. Where is mama??

I let out a loud cry. Tears streaming down my face as I cry loudly, all three of them step back in shock. I get picked up and mama holds me close.

"I am very disappointed in all three of you, Riley is the littlest of you all and when you are all yelling at him how do you think that makes him feel?" Mama cradles me as I cling to her trying to calm myself down.

"Sad" all three of them answer mama quietly.

"All three of you can sit in timeout for 20 minutes. Russo go in your room, Leah in the playroom and Charlie in Riley's room. I do not want to hear a peep out of any of you and if you move you will get a spanking. Now go" mama points to the house and all three slowly walk towards it. Damon getting up and guiding them in.

"Mama" I sniffle and her hard gaze turns to a gentle smile and soft eyes.

"My poor baby, they weren't very nice to you were they. Don't worry little dove, mama has you" she kisses my forehead. I make grabby hands at the toys because I still want to play. Mama puts me down and I play with the dinosaurs and the dolls. Mama plays with me and makes the dolls Run away as I make the dinosaurs scary. Mama is so silly.

After 20 minutes, all three come back out with tear stained faces. "We are sorry Riley" Leah and Russo say softly and mama says I forgive them which I do but I can't say it. Charlie didn't apologize. He just sits quietly on the other side of mama, hissing in pain as his bum touches the ground, which is weird..

I'm just glad I had mama here to help when it all got a bit much, I don't know what I would do without her.
