*Emily*
When Russo asked if he could call me mommy too I was happy he had adjusted so quickly to his new environment. I'm surprised all it took was a firm telling off to get him in the right track. I wasn't going to push anything on him. I wanted him to figure himself out with things like maybe breastfeeding. Riley is meant to be coming back soon and I'm worried the boys won't realize they can share me.
The door opens and Riley comes running towards me, leaping up into my arms. "MOMMY" He squeals hugging me tightly. I kiss his cheek gently. I say a quick goodbye to my dad and put Riley down.
"Em-mommy, what's for dinner" Russo shyly asks me. For such a confrontational person I didn't expect him to be this shy and nervous. Riley looks confused.
"Your his mommy too?" Riley asks me and I nod gently. He doesn't seem to happy but he seems okay.
"How about pasta for dinner, you boys go play while I cook" I speak after a moment of awkward silence. Both of them go upstairs in a rush, I get started on dinner. Making a thick tomato sauce for the dish, rolling out meatballs. It's all relaxed and quiet until I hear yelling upstairs... I out everything on low heat and run upstairs. "Boys what's going on" I ask as I walk into the playroom.
"NOTHING, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE BECAUSE IT'S NOT EVEN LIKE YOU WANT ME ANYMORE ANYWAYS" Riley shoves past me in tears and runs to his room shutting it with a loud slam.
"I-I didn't mean to cause any trouble, I really didn't... I just wanted to have a mommy too" Russo says softly with tears running down his face... I kneel down and dry his eyes gently.
"It's not your fault baby, Riley is just finding it hard to understand. I'll talk to him don't worry" he calms down as I hug him loosely, I think he prefers soft hugs whereas Riley is the opposite. When he calms down I leave him to play for awhile. I go to Riley's room and open the door slowly. Making sure to lock it behind me because I didn't want him running out... "Riley?"
"JUST GET THE FUCK OUT, I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT ME SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUB IT IN. YOUR JUST GOING TO CHOOSE RUSSO OVER ME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I WANTED TO THINK YOU WERE DIFFERENT BUT YOUR LIKE EVERYONE ELSE" Riley is yelling and very upset. When I try to pick him up he fights me and I drop him. This time I pick him up quickly and hold him tightly. Pressing his little hands to my chest so they can't move.
"Baby, I know your upset but I would never pick Russo over you. I can be a mommy to the both of you. I'm not picking him over you at all and I love you very much" I whisper in his ear. He is still upset but his yelling turns into just tears. I lay him on my chest and he cries heavily, until his cries turn to sniffles. Russo walks in slowly and I open an arm out, he cuddles into my side and takes a deep breath out.
"Something smells weird" Russo says and that's when I realize...
"FUCKKKK" I Yell before taking a deep breath. All the food is burnt... To a crisp, there is no hope for this food.. "How about takeaway" I suggest to the boys who cheer happily.
We all sit in the living room watching TV until the food comes. The boys got happy meals and I got a big Mac with fries and a smoothie. After dinner I decided it was bedtime for the boys.
"Mommy can we match" Riley asks me sweetly.
"Yeah can we" Russo joins in.
"Okay, go grab your jammies and come get me if you need help" They both nod and run to their rooms. I only had a few clothes for Russo so I needed to go shopping after work tomorrow for more.
. (Imagine they have wings too guys)
These are the pj's they picked blue dragons. So silly!"Wow look at my scary dragons. I'm so scared" I pretend, both of them giggling and shaking their tails happily. "But now it's time for the dragons to go to bed" Which earns me a whine. Russo goes to his room and waits for me in the doorway. I put Riley in his crib, in my room not the one in his nursery.
"Mommy, milk befowre bwed pease" Riley whines at me.
"Of course baby but I need to tuck Russo in first" he smiles and sits in his crib waiting for me. Russo smiles as I walk toward him. "Come on sweetheart, into bed" He bounds into the crib. I kiss his head gently and pull the fourth wall up, clicking it in place.
"Night mommy" Russo yawns out as he pulls the blanket over him.
"Goodnight Sweetheart, sleep well. I love you" He smiles up at me.
"I love you too mommy" I turn off the light and go back to my room where Riley is still sitting in his crib. I lift him up and sit back in bed, positioning him and letting him latch on. Soft sucks turn into gentle snores.
It was late in the evening, I had just out Riley to bed after letting him sleep on my chest for awhile. I was just about to get into bed when I get startled by a figure in my door.
"Russo, sweetheart you scared me" I breathlessly say.
"M-mommy" He says softly.
"What's up baby, you should be asleep it's super late" I look at the clock that flashes 00:01..
"I-I just can't sleep, can I sleep with you"
"Yes of course, hop into bed I just need to get dressed" I say, he jumps into bed and gets comfortable. I get dressed into a tank top and short shorts. Getting into bed next to Russo, allowing him to cuddle into me. He's breathing gently as he lays on my breasts.
