His footsteps carried him throughout the busy building, full of life with people walking all through the halls surrounding him. But his eyes never lingered anywhere but ahead, towards the office door that sat directly at the end of the hall. Her office sat as the second largest in the huge facility, with a beautiful gold nameplate sitting directly on the door with just her first name, Angela.
A small knock onto the door raised the focus of the slightly older woman to place her attention on Syre who slowly pushed the door open to reveal himself. But not just himself, also the large bouquet of fresh red roses in a diamond vase he held in his hand, bringing a widened shock to her eyes.
"I want to thank you." He breathed out before Angela could speak a word. She hadn't seen Syre in a little while with him and Amerie having their babies, getting married, then his legal issues, so the confusion in her face was so prominent. "For everything." He finished off, placing the roses down onto her desk.
He'd been seeing her weekly since the first time, and knew he wouldn't be in the position he was in if it wasn't for her. "Imma be so honest Angela, you the reason I even got my family right now. I was in a deep dark hole, fighting hella demons that I was able to ignore when I had the comfort of Amerie. I thought it was her just bringing me happiness, but in reality she was just a distraction and when she wasn't there I was back fucked up again. I was stubborn as hell and I know that, but you took yo time and patience on not just me, but also her when she was in her dark space." He paused, glancing down towards the envelope that still remained in his hands.
"Neither her nor I would probably be alive right now if it weren't for you, and that to me tells me yo work is priceless. So I want to give you this here, I ain't tryna retire you or nothing if you not ready for that. But I think it's enough for if you did want to retire you can, or you know you could do whatever with it but I want to give you this too. This on behalf of Amerie and I, she was at home with the little ones and I think she on her way here, but when she come back to the office I know she gon give you her own lil speech." He chuckled, handing her the envelope before he could continue on.
