"Keeping Promises" (Part 2)

Meeting In Gainesville Pt. 1.

There were times in my life where I didn't know where I would be and who I would come across until now. To help a group of people that needed me now more than ever was something I didn't think I would be able to do without Aaron's help by my side. We were now in the car with Demi and Tim sitting in the back driving from Jacksonville to Gainesville. Tim had some good and some crazy memories at UF but he wanted to end on a good note.

Tim: I'm so glad that you guys talked to DJ on the phone.

Me: Yea we are also. We didn't know how it was going to go.

Tim: I know it is going to be okay Sarah. You just have to let everything go with God.

Me: Yeah I know. I always thought about this moment for a long time and now that I get to do it amazes me every single time.

After a couple of hours on the road we finally got to Gainesville. Tim parked where the students usually do by the football field and he took us to the football office where he spent most of his college life. He knew the memories he had here and it was going to stay with him forever. Aaron and I walked behind him and Demi and we took a seat on the grass and just looked around.

Me: This stadium is something. I can hear the crowd cheering just from the echos.

Tim: Oh yeah. That is what I love about this place. The years at this university taught me so much that it has helped me go through my own life lessons.

Me: Yeah I can see that being a thing for you.

Tim: Sarah DJ should be here in a couple of minutes he just texted me.

Me: Oh okay. Did he bring Shay with him?

Tim: Yeah she is with him.

As I looked around I went to sit up in the bleachers just to take in the view from different sides of the stadium and then I see a woman coming over.

Demi: Hey Sarah.

Me: Hey Dems.

Demi: You okay?

Me: Yeah just taking this in and just trying to see what memories come to surface.

Demi: I will bring DJ and Shay over now so they can give you their own perspectives.

Me: Thank you.

Demi: Welcome. Take it day by day Sarah. This is a tough topic.

Me: Yeah I know it is.

A couple of minutes later I see two people smile and wave at me and I knew who they were.

DJ: Hey Sarah.

Me: Hey D.

DJ: How are you?

Me: Hanging in there.

DJ: Yeah I could say the same for me. Thank you for wanting to do this for my brother.

Me: Oh the pleasure is all mine. I want to help.

DJ: Yeah I was just talking to Aaron he said you are extremely serious about this.

Me: Yeah I am.

Shay: Hey Sarah.

Me: Hey.

Shay: Are you sure you are okay with doing this?

Me: I have tough skin. I'm more worried about you and DJ.

Shay: Thank you for caring but we are okay. We are ready whenever you are.

Me: When did you guys know something was going on with Aaron?
