Chapter 82: We Always Have Each Others' Backs

The night prior...

"However, taking the empress is not your primary goal, but to destroy humanity's only hope." The general faced the other demon, revealing himself by the shine of the moon as Protagius, one of the generals of Hyperion. "The Asgardians."

The other demon came closer, revealing himself as well, "May I ask you how, general?" Shadow asked attentively.

"Destroy the Bifrost." Protagius glared at Ribora with pride. "We cannot allow those humans to reach Asgard. We know how powerful those creatures were, to the point that we lost the fight we almost won against them centuries ago. It hurts my pride to admit that we will be defeated once more if there would be a chance that these Asgardians would intervene again."

Protagius faced Shadow and gave him his staff.

"You shall destroy the Rainbow Bridge." He raised his hand above the staff and enchanted it with his dark magic. "Once we conquered the surface and gain access to the Scarlet rubies, no creature, not even the Asgardians can defeat us."

"Don't worry, General." Shadow raised the staff above. "They shall succumb under the shadows of Hyperion."

"Surround the wall!"

The cannons above the walls started to shoot the demons down, though it was so powerful, it's time to charge lags behind and too slow for the demons.

While the demons marched around the wall, Bulls, Cressida, and Blackfoot hid behind the trees outside the walls.

"That was the demon who injured James and Hiro." Bulls furiously said.

"They're after me." Cressida stared at her hands and walked out of her hiding spot.

Bulls pulled her by her hand and asked, "We won't let them take you." He gazed at her eye, convincing her not to go.

"But if we won't do anything, then they will destroy everything inside the walls!" She started to cry as she turned to face Bulls. "Those innocent, bratty humans will die."

"Stop arguing, that will take you nowhere!" Blackfoot exclaimed. "No one's going with the demons, okay?"

He stood up and bolted towards the enemies.

"Take her somewhere safe."

"Hey, Blackfoot!" Bulls exclaimed.

"I'll stall the Riboran Soldiers some time!"

"This is a very reckless thing to do but this is what I do." Blackfoot leaped up in the air, pulling his legs closer to him. "This is nothing compared to what Aaron is doing."

Shadow waved the staff forward, "Now, demons! Show no merc–"

"Fly away, you annoying demon." Blackfoot kicked him in the face with full strength, sending Shadow crashing into the other demons behind. "Barrett Snipe."

"I won't let you step behind those walls." Blackfoot took his chain necklace and whipped it down, turning them into huge, whipping chains. Bring it on, demons."

"So strong." Bulls was stunned by Blackfoot incredible speed amd immense power. Every movement was smooth and well calculated, and the accuracy was magnificent. He was about to step forward when he remembered the woman he needs to protect. "Cressida we should– Cressida? Cressida!"

He lost sight of her, looked around in every direction, he panicked and was about to use Blueprint when his sight reached her. There she was, running towards the crowd of demons, carrying boulders with her psychokenesis and started smashing them mercilessly.
