Chapter 5:

Kiyo Pov:

Though the exam had a five-hour time limit, we were only about an hour into it. We had gotten to the last issue almost too quickly. Given how smoothly things had been going, a few students must have thought that clearing the exam was a certainty now. Once we finished the next and final issue, the special exam would be over, and we would be awarded fifty Class Points.

However, if there was one cause for concern for everyone right now, it was probably the look on our homeroom teacher's face.

Chabs: Well then...that brings us to the final issue...

As we tackled each issue, the color drained from Chabashira's face more and more. It was obvious to the students that she had finally reached her peak, as she had now turned deathly pale.

Hirata: Sensei, are you all right?

Yato: ...

Even though the issue still hadn't actually been read to us yet, talking amongst ourselves wasn't exactly encouraged. Yosuke couldn't overlook the situation and decided to speak up anyway.

Chabs: What do you mean?

Hirata: Well, it's just... You're clearly looking unwell, that's all.

Chabs: You think so? I'm fine...

It didn't sound like she was putting on a brave face. In other words, it seemed as if she herself didn't realize that there was anything wrong with her.

Chabs: Now then, I'll show you the final issue. Get ready to vote.

With that, Chabashira started tapping on her tablet that she held in her hands. At the same time, the woman was trying to get her breathing under control. Then, the final issue was displayed.

ISSUE #5

In exchange for expelling one of your classmates, gain 100 Class Points. (In the event the class is unanimously in favor, a vote will be held to choose the student to be expelled.)

CHOICES

For, Against

Chabs: I'll be starting the sixty-second countdown now... Everyone, begin putting in your votes.

We weren't given any extra time. The sixty-second voting period had already begun. If the class voted unanimously in favor of the issue, we would immediately begin the process of selecting who would be expelled. Yesterday I agreed with Horikita to always vote for the first option while she will always vote for the second one to force an interval for discussion.

However, in that particular circumstance, I decided that we should finish this issue quickly and without spending any extra time. Besides, there was no guarantee that the 100 points would not sway students once we were thrust into a discussion. I determined that an interval was unnecessary in regard to this issue alone.

After nearly sixty seconds had passed, a notification was displayed indicating that all votes were in.

Chabs: Since all votes are now in, I'll show you your results...

Despite the fact there was obviously something off, Chabashira maintained her composure and continued with the exam.

Round 1

Voting Results: For: 3 Votes, Against: 36 Votes

Kiyo: So, it's not unanimous, huh?
