Chapter 6

Kushida Pov:

We finally reached unanimity in favor of this motion. There's now no turning back, and at the end of it, someone will be expelled, or we will simply lose 300 Class Points.

It was Fukazawa who first asked to switch everyone's vote, but in the end, Horikita assumed that choice, which was a good thing for me. She's the leader, and since she assumed the responsibility for that choice, I'll be able to put the blame on her somehow. I don't have a choice...it's her or me.

It's my mistake to have made so many enemies and bad decisions, but I cannot turn back right now...Yagami is now also threatening me, and the best I can do is somehow work with him to expel Horikita and a few other enemies.

Before that, though, there's a major problem remaining...

That mysterious person who voted with the intention of expelling Fukazawa Yato.

That idiot agreed to face that unknown person directly by playing a 'game' with him.

That's why I have a huge opportunity to expel him, just as Yagami told me yesterday. All I would have to do is vote Against, and I would be assured that Fukazawa would leave the school by himself after the special exam. No...there's a major problem as well. The thing is that I don't even know who that traitor is, while on the other side, he's probably aware of me, as Yagami hinted.

That means if somehow Fukazawa really ends up picking the traitor out of the 38 students in the class and he votes For to win that 'game'...well I would simply save him as I would be the only vote on Against.

Fukazawa's 'game' rules are that if there's more than 1 vote for Against, then he loses in goal to give the traitor a chance to expel him. That's why if Fukazawa Yato chooses the traitor of all the people in the class, there's no way for him to be saved. Horikita and the other cannot vote Against to save him because if there's more than 1 vote, then he's also out.

Kushida: Then...

I was lost in my thoughts while Fukazawa walked around the classroom, looking at every student and wondering which he would choose for his game.

Kushida: What should I do? My target remains Horikita, but...expelling Fukazawa Yato seems easy after all, right? Just like Fukazawa has 1 chance out of 38 to pick the traitor...I only have 1 chance out of 38 to save him by voting Against. Otherwise, he'll be expelled...and no one would be aware of it...

After all...how many times I've been fooled and humiliated by him since our paths meet in this school? How many times have I cursed his existence and wished he never existed in the first case? How many times I tried to get the upper hand on him last year but only failed miserably?

Who loves being the loser? No one appreciates losing and being continually humiliated by the same person over and over, no matter what you do or try...

Then...

Yato: That's why if you ever have enemies or problems that you cannot crush yourself, I'll destroy them for you.

Kushida: What changed at the end?! Why does he suddenly look like the answer to all my problems?!

Horikita: Yato! We need to figure out the traitor! Don't take any more risks!

Kushida: That's right...the traitor...he must be more than happy right now because no matter who he picks, he must think that he's assured of winning since I'm supposed to expel Fukazawa...
