Chapter 6
Yato Pov
Just before noon while the cultural festival was at its peak.
Waka and I stood at the school gate, gazing down at two men in suits at the bottom of the stairs.
Yato: My thanks for coming~~
Tsukishiro and the man I met last year stood there with their car parked nearby.
The same man who raised many questions during our short encounter who also ended up being Kiyo's father.
Once again, almost a whole year later, we were facing each other.
Yato: I'm really happy to see I could rely on you, Tsukishiro.
This last one, with his usual smile and squinted eyes, nodded.
Tsukishiro: I value a lot of first impressions...I couldn't fail after such a request of yours.
I just sneered as I started to remember the last time Tsukishiro and I spoke to each other.
He introduced himself properly to me, and I used this opportunity to test him.
I asked him to plan a meeting between Ayanokoji's father and me.
Tsukishiro: I must say it's been easier than expected. Being able to work with such a man on your side made the preparation easier for us.
Waka, standing next to me with his nonchalant attitude, just nodded.
After all, when I asked him to organize something, I also asked him to seek Waka's help, as he is my right-handed man and one of the people I trust the most.
Waka: Even if we're alone, it won't last indefinitely...we have at least 10 minutes.
Yato: Great, then let's not waste more time, huh?
My attention turned toward Ayanokoji's father, who stayed silent from the beginning with his sharp gaze on me.
Tsukishiro: I think the presentation has never been done officially...here is Ayanokoji Atsuomi-sensei, Yato-kun.
Yato: Oh? And this fucker forgets how to speak?
I also started looking at this Atsuomi guy with a sharper gaze, as he had been staring at me silently since the beginning.
Kiyo never mentions his father's name when talking about him. Although Tsukishiro's information was worthwhile, I wanted this guy to speak up.
Atsuomi: I'm curious...I didn't expect to be called here today...even less by you.
Yato: Yet you came here when I asked...what a good doggy you are, huh?
With our first encounter fresh in my mind, I decided to start with some provocation, knowing it wouldn't make him react.
Atsuomi: I see...this sharp tongue of yours. You talk more than Toji was back then.
Yato: Ah yeah, that guy...you might be correct, but you know? You already have more talk than your dull-ass son....blood ain't everything.
Atsuomi: Kiyotaka huh? Blood might only be a forced bond, yet it ties some fate together...
Yato: Fate, huh?
I glanced at Tsukishiro, whose attitude hadn't changed at all.
Atsuomi: I agreed to come here today since you wanted to meet me, Yato. Why such a request though?
Yato: Mhm? Well, I thought you might want some help getting your lost pets back. I can bring those whiteroomer kids right now if you wish.
Atsuomi: Even if I am curious to see Kiyotaka, I have already told you...I came here because you asked me. Those kids aren't worth my time.
