Chapter 6

Yato Pov:

The first hellish school week since the last special exam finally ended. We were now Sunday as the weekend passed in the blink of an eye.

I was lying in bed while scrolling on my phone through Kiriyama's notes and the school OAA. It was midday, so I was only eating some snacks Kushida left here while looking at my phone.

It's been a few days already since I agreed to have a match against Nagumo, and aside from Kiriyama, I didn't bring any other student on my side.

I heard Nagumo asked Yagami Takuya to join his team for his match against me. However, it wasn't a surprise since I'd been the one asking him to pick Yagami.

Aside from Yagami, Nagumo asked that guy named Tanaka, who is a third-year and also part of the soccer club. He's also a student with a good OAA and is good at sports, according to the list Kiriyama gave me.

He only remains his pick for the second-year student...I heard some rumors, but nothing official compared to Tanaka.

He also submitted me a first draft of the events he will pick for me and the event we'll face each other...

Nagumo already started taking things seriously, as he was more advanced in his preparation than me. Personally, aside from Kiriyama, I haven't made any progress yet.

Not that I struggle to find a way to obtain the victory...I already have everything in mind for my battle with Nagumo Miyabi. I need more time to get the right cards I want for this battle.

In terms of organizing the schedule, I prefer dealing with what Nagumo comes up with and finding any breach possible. There's a high risk of falling into some traps set up by Nagumo as soon as he understands I'm more passive than him in terms of preparation, but whatever...I'll deal with any traps and even welcome them.

Yato: Mhm...but seriously...

As I continued scrolling on my phone through the notes Kiriyama wrote for me, I was rather surprised by all this work.

Yato: He's taking things with seriousness...I shouldn't be surprised by the character, though...

I already had a certain idea from the third-year students, but I needed more information about their hierarchy below Nagumo. Even if there's a sole king on the throne of the third year, there's still a hierarchy below him.

That's why I need a better understanding of the situation in the third year. Fuka wasn't the right person for this role. Despite her excellent instinct and observation skills, everything that doesn't catch her interest isn't worth her attention, so her information isn't as much as someone like Kiriyama can have.

Despite Nagumo's dictatorship, there are still a few good students on the paper, but no doubt his school year felt weak compared to ours or even to this new batch of first-year students. Someone like Sakayanagi or Ryuuen would have ended up in a similar situation to Nagumo if they had ended up facing such weak competition. Kiriyama isn't bad, yet I cannot see him maintaining his position against people like these two and only falling as he did against Nagumo.

Yato: A king feeling unlucky and unworthy, huh?

Curious about something, I left the notes, opened the OAA app, which was already running in the back, and decided to take a look again at his OAA.

Yato: An overall evaluation of A, huh?

I just sneered after looking again at his scores.

Right after him in terms of the overall score was me, with an evaluation of A, but still below Nagumo. Next in line was Touma, with an evaluation of A-, and then Hirata, with a B+ score.
