Chapter 4

Touma Pov:

We were now Wednesday morning. Classes weren't starting anytime soon, but I was already at school and heading toward the student council room.

Last night, Nagumo-senpai warned us that a reunion would be held this morning.

Student council meetings were usually held after school. However, it seems that the meetings were held early in the morning for major events such as the festival to give students more time to prepare themselves.

In the student council, Nagumo Miyabi rules over his whole school year. That's why it might be pointless for him to have more time after school, but it was really appreciated by the other members from years below.

Ichinose-senpai and Horikita-senpai are the only people from the second year and are also two class leaders. That's why this initiative from Nagumo is good for them for the upcoming festival since preparation is required.

Takuya, Kujou-san and I are the only first-year students—three students from the B-class. That's why I'd be really glad if my student council duty could be lightened by holding meetings before class instead of after school.

Touma: Yet I wonder what Nagumo-senpai wants to discuss after informing us so tardily about this meeting...

As I wondered why Nagumo decided to hold a meeting this morning, I noticed a girl walking further away as I turned the hallway's corner.

Touma: Ah Horikita-senpai.

Hearing my call, she stopped and looked behind her when I walked to her.

Horikita: Ah Fukazawa-kun. Good morning.

I greeted her with a slight nod and smile before we began to walk again.

Horikita: I wonder why Nagumo Senpai suddenly held such a sudden meeting.

It seems she was wondering the same thing as I.

Touma: I must admit Nagumo-senpai is someone who can act on a... wimp? However, I need to recognize that he's very serious about his duty...

That's why he gained my respect quite rapidly. From our first brief interaction, I knew we were quite the opposite, yet he's someone serious about his role and thinks for the betterment in his own way.

Horikita: He's definitely more serious than I thought he was based on my first impression...

As we were walking, I glanced at her, wondering about something.

Touma: By the way, my brother returned to class yesterday, right?

It seemed my question had taken her by surprise, but she just nodded calmly.

Horikita: Indeed, it seems the illness he noticed at school was not that worrying in the end.

Touma: I see...

I just smiled, but there were already so many things wrong in her statement.

Touma: Was there any other problem, though? He hasn't really answered my messages these last few days, and I started to wonder if something happened.

Horikita: Mhm? That's odd...nothing worth mentioning happened, though. I'll make sure he doesn't leave his brother's message unanswered. He can be carefree sometimes, right?

Touma: That's right...I wouldn't surprised if he just forgot to answer me hahaha.

I answered while simply acquiescing her words without looking to confront her.
