Maddie's pov:

When I got home after school I immediately walked into the kitchen. I hadn't yet actually asked my parents if I was even allowed to go to Olivia's party. Since it was Friday my parents were both home early from work.

"Hey guys" I said with a smile on my face as I walked over to the island where my parents were sitting. My mom lowered her glasses and looked at me.

"What do you want?" She said with a smile.

"She probably broke something." My sister suddenly said, appearing in the doorway to the kitchens . I rolled my eyes and ignored her.

"Are we doing anything tomorrow night?" I asked both my parents. My dad was doing something on his laptop and my mom was scrolling on her phone.

"Mmm no don't think so." She said. "Why?"

My sister grabbed a bag of chips from the pantry and walked over to stand next to me. I reached into the bag and grabbed a handful of chips.

"well my friend Olivia, the one on the cheer team, is having some people over Saturday night....I was wondering if I could go for a bit."

My dad looked up from his computer and looked at my mom, who was looking at me.

"I've never heard of this girl" my mom said.

"umm well she's new.....but she's super nice" my parents still didn't look convinced...well my mom that is.

"and it'll just be mostly cheer leaders..just a little hangout."

"Will Brady be there?" My dad said, speaking up.

"Nope. Olivia did not invite him, she knows what happened with us."

"Good." My dad said. He hated Brady. He almost drove over to his house with a baseball bat when I told my parents that he cheated on me.

There was a moment of silence between my parents, all I could hear was my sister eating chips.

"So can I go?" I asked.

My mom sighed and looked up. "well I guess so, as long as you're home at a reasonable hour" I quickly nodded and smiled at my mom.

"Oh wait...your dad and I are going out for dinner tomorrow night."

I looked at my mom confused.

"so...."

"So you're leaving your sister all alone." She said, motioning to Sadie. Sadie looked at my mom confused too.

"That's okay." She quickly said to my mom.

"How about you take her with you?" My mom suggested. My eyes went wide, so did Sadie's.

"mom." I said, maybe a little bit dramatically. "you want me to take a sophomore to a senior party?"

My mom put her glass down. "you said it would be just a few cheer leaders"

"Well yeah...but-"

"If you want to go, you have to take your sister. You guys should really hangout more."

I looked at Sadie who wasn't saying anything about this. She took the bag of chips and walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

"Ugh fine." I said. My mom smiled at me in return.

I grabbed my backpack from the ground where I dumped it, and I made my way up the stairs and to my room. I dropped my bag off at my door and kept on walking to my sister's room.

Her door was open and she was sitting at her desk. I walked in and sat down on her bed. She didn't look up from the schoolwork she was doing.

"can I help you?" She asked.

"Why do you want to go to the party?" I asked bluntly. "You never want to hangout with me."

"That's not true." She said, turning around in her chair to face me. "I'm just usually busy."

"that doesn't answer my question" I said, crossing my arms.

She signed and looked around her room. "There's this guy in my grade..he's a football player. He's going to the party since his older brother was invited, I think his brothers name is Cole or something"

I looked at her suspiciously. "So you want to go to this party cause you like a guy?" I asked

"Oh like you haven't done that"

Well she's not wrong.

"Come on, please just let me come."

I looked at her. She titled her head and pursed her lips together. I rolled my eyes.

"Fine." I said. She clapped her hands together in celebration. "But, you absolutely cannot drink. Like at all. Not even a sip."

"Yep of course." She agreed.

"And. You must be with me or Leo at all times. There's going to be drunk football players there, I will not risk anything." I said, pointing my finger at her.

"Deal" she said, nodding.

I sat on her bed for a minute before getting up and walking back to my room.

Once I walked through my doorway I immediately went over to my bed and plopped down. I laid on my stomach, pressing my face into my pillow.

Don't get me wrong, I love my sister, and I love hanging out with her....But I was already freaking out about going to a party that Dylan would be at, and now I was also gonna be freaking out over my little sister being at a party surrounded by drunken seniors.

But I just have to make sure to watch over her....at all times.....

And maybe it would be best if I... ignored Dylan for a bit. I mean I don't want to be an asshole or anything,  but there's no harm in not purposely talking to her...right?
