Maddies POV:

"So what do you want to talk about?" Dylan asked me, her voice light. I could tell she wanted me to take the lead.

"Me? You're the one who suggested we talk." I said, glancing up at her.

Dylan and I had walked across the parking lot where there was a kids playground and we found a picnic table. I was sitting on the bench while Dylan was sitting on the table facing me, her feet on the bench besides me.

"Well I don't know" she said, looking straight ahead. "I thought we probably should."

I thought for a moment, there was something I wanted to ask her, but I wasn't sure how to phrase it.

"Okay fine, can I ask you something?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.

She looked at me curious. "Sure, shoot."

"Did I say anything to you in the bathroom?" I asked, suddenly feeling embarrassed "I don't really remember much."

"Hmm." Dylan shrugged slightly. "No, I don't think so. You just said my name."

I  looked down at my hands.

"So, you don't remember kissing me?" she asked, her voice quieter now, almost hesitant.

"I remember kissing someone, not exactly you....I don't know it was all a blur" I said. She looked away. I felt bad again.

"Sorry. It wasn't exactly a great....first kiss." I mumbled the last part. She looked back at me.

"Yeah it wasn't great." She said, a smile slightly forming on her face.

"Wow thanks" I said.

"What? I mean okay, it wasn't that bad. But you were drunk." She said. We were looking at each other. "I'd rather kiss you when you're not drunk" she said in a low tone.

Oh my god.

I felt my face getting hot so I looked away. I bit the inside of my mouth.

"You know what?" she said, breaking the tension. "I actually have a question for you." She had an unreadable look in her eye. "When did you know you were in love with me?"

I scoffed, surprised by the sudden shift. "Really?"

"What?" She shrugged, blatantly. "I mean, you kind of hated me before."

"Okay, well first of all," I said, sitting up a little straighter, "I'm not in love with you."

She smirked. "Yet."

I looked at her. "You're really pushing it here."

She raised her hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay, sorry."

I thought for a moment, biting my lip. Then I answered honestly. "I don't know. I guess I started to realize I liked you that night at the party. When everything with Mike went down. You were there for me, and I... I appreciated it."

Dylans expression softened. Her eyes met mine. We just looked at each other for a moment before she looked away. Now it was my turn.

"Ok so what about you?" I asked.

"What?" she said, looking down at me.

"You answer." I said.

"Um no that was my question. You can't ask the same one. Thats against the rules."

I rolled me eyes. "Oh so theres rules now?"

"Yep." she said. "You gotta ask something else."

I thought for a moment.
