The movie began with an archaeologist venturing deep into the jungle, searching for an ancient, long-lost temple. The main character was charismatic and funny, delivering lines that made both Alex and Ember laugh out loud. There were clever references to classic adventure films like Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, which only added to the humor.
As they laughed together, Ember leaned in closer, her hand resting gently on Alex's chest. "Have you ever watched Indiana Jones?" she asked, her voice soft and curious.
Alex's face flushed with warmth as he realized how close she was. Her lying almost of top of him made him a bit nervous, but he tried to play it cool. "Of course, I have! It's a true classic," he replied, trying to sound confident.
Ember fell silent for a moment, her eyes searching his face. "You're not going to believe this, but I've never actually seen it," she admitted quietly.
Alex's eyes widened in surprise. "No way! We have to fix that. Next time, we're definitely watching it together," he said, grinning at the thought of sharing one of his favorite films with her.
Ember smiled, her heart warming at the idea of spending more time with him. The feeling was mutual, and Alex couldn't help but think how nice it was to be around her.
The movie continued, and the archaeologist finally reached the temple he had been searching for. But in his excitement, he carelessly opened a tomb, unleashing an undead creature. At first, the situation was tense, but soon, the undead and the archaeologist struck up an unlikely friendship.
As the plot unfolded, Alex felt Ember shift beside him. She whispered, almost hesitantly, "Do you mind if I lean against you?"
"Not at all," Alex replied.
Without hesitation, Ember leaned into him, her head resting on his chest. He could feel the softness of her hair against his cheek. Wanting to make her more comfortable, he lifted his arm, allowing her to fully nestle against him. His arm naturally draped over her, holding her close.
Ember giggled softly, clearly content. "You know, your boobs makes a surprisingly good pillow."
Alex chuckled, a bit embarrassed but also pleased. "Glad it's good for something," he joked, trying to hide how much he enjoyed having her so close.
On screen, the archaeologist decided to use his new undead companion to help him find a hidden treasure. But as they journeyed together, he discovered that the real treasure wasn't gold or jewels—it was the love he had formed with the undead woman.
"Aww, that's so sweet," Ember sighed, her voice filled with emotion as the characters shared a touching moment.
"Yeah, it really is," Alex agreed, though his thoughts were more on the girl resting against him than the movie. The credits rolled, and the lights slowly came up, revealing the cozy scene they had created.
Alex glanced down at Ember, who was still lying comfortably on his chest. The sight of her like that made his heart race. He had never been this close to a girl before, and the thought of it made him blush.
Ember finally sat up, stretching slightly before offering her hand to help him up. Looking at her bright red nails. Alex took it, his fingers lingering in hers for a moment longer than necessary as he stood.
"So, what's the plan for dinner?" she asked with curiosity.
"I wasn't sure what you'd be in the mood for, but since we've had pasta together before, I thought maybe Italian?" he suggested, hoping she'd like the idea.
Ember's smile widened. "I love Italian food! You really do have great taste, Alex."
Together, they left the cinema and headed toward a nearby restaurant. Alex discreetly glanced around, noticing that the two people who had been following them earlier were still keeping their distance. He didn't mind, though. Today was about Ember, and he wasn't going to let anything ruin that.
At the restaurant, they were quickly seated and handed menus. After placing their orders, Alex asked for a beer while Ember chose a glass of wine. As they waited for their food, they started talking about the movie.
"So, what did you think of the film?" Alex asked, genuinely curious about her thoughts.
"It was hilarious! I loved how it balanced the humor with the action and the love story," Ember replied, her enthusiasm clear.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's nice to see you laugh," Alex said, a smile tugging at his lips.
Ember's expression softened as she looked at him. "Thank you, Alex. Today's been really nice."
They continued talking, the conversation flowing easily between them. They discussed everything from movies to their favorite foods.
"Do you prefer pizza or pasta?" Ember asked, twirling a strand of hair around her finger as she spoke.
"Hmm, that's a tough one. I love both, but if I had to choose, I'd say pizza is my favorite," Alex answered thoughtfully.
"Really? I love pizza too, but you can definitely wake me up in the middle of the night for some spaghetti carbonara," Ember said with a grin.
"Is that your favorite food?" Alex asked, curious to know more about her.
"Not quite. Can you guess what it is?" Ember asked playfully, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Alex thought for a moment before guessing, "Sushi?"
"Wow, you're good! I love sushi," she said, laughing. "If guessing was a game, you'd definitely win."
They both laughed, enjoying the playful banter. But as they did, Alex found his thoughts drifting back to home. It had been days since he'd seen his family, and he couldn't help but wonder if his mom was worried. Did she even know he was missing?
"And your favorite food is pizza?" Ember asked, bringing him back to the present.
Alex shook his head, smiling. "No, it's not pizza."
Ember's eyes narrowed as she tried to figure it out. "Is it... sushi too?"
Alex laughed nervously. "Actually, I've never had sushi before."
Ember looked at him in disbelief. "You're kidding, right?"
"No, I'm serious," Alex admitted.
"Well, we're definitely trying sushi next time," Ember said with determination.
"Deal," Alex agreed, smiling at the thought of trying something new with her.
After dessert, they made their way back to the facility. Ember walked Alex to his room.
"I really loved today," Ember said softly, her voice carrying a hint of something deeper.
"Me too," Alex replied, his heart pounding as they stood close, their eyes locked.
For a moment, neither of them moved. Then Ember chuckled, breaking the silence. "Sorry, but those lashes are huge! It's too funny."
"Oh yeah? I think this is funny," Alex teased, and before she could react, he scooped her up in his arms.
Ember let out a surprised scream, quickly followed by laughter as he set her back down. They stood close, their faces just inches apart, the moment stretching between them.
Slowly, they leaned in, their eyes fluttering closed as their lips met in a gentle kiss. Alex's hands moved to her hips, holding her close, while Ember's arms wrapped around his neck. The kiss was soft, sweet.
When they finally pulled away, they were both smiling. Ember hugged Alex tightly, whispering in his ear, "I forgive you."
"You make me happy," Alex whispered back, holding her just as tightly.
They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's arms, savoring the moment. Eventually, Ember pulled away, her cheeks flushed with warmth.
"Your game is starting soon. I'm going to get your hint. I'll be right back, Alex," she said, her eyes shining as she smiled at him. Then she turned and walked away, leaving Alex standing there, his heart full.
As he watched her go, Alex couldn't help but think, Did this really happen? He felt a warmth spread through him, a happiness he hadn't felt in a long time. Walking to his bed, he caught his reflection in the mirror and paused. Seeing his boobs, the lashes. This place was horrible, but without it, he would have never met her.
