Alex stood in shock, wishing more than anything that this ordeal was over. This punishment was the most humiliating experience of his life. Meanwhile, the girls were having the time of their lives, chatting and giggling as if nothing was wrong. Jade glanced at Alex, and her eyes widened with sudden realization.
"How could I have missed that?" she exclaimed, walking off to grab something from the store. She returned with a pencil and, without saying much, walked straight up to Alex. "Hold still," she said, focusing intently as she began working on his brows. The girls watched with mischievous smiles, clearly enjoying the transformation.
"And... done!" Jade stepped back, admiring her handiwork. Alex was turned to face the mirror once more, and his heart sank. His eyebrows had been thinned into perfectly shaped lines. It was a drastic change, making him look even more feminine.
"This just makes him look so much more like a girl! I love it," Stacey squealed, and Amy nodded in agreement.
With that, they were finally done in the makeup store, but Alex's misery was not over yet. They moved on to another shop filled with necklaces, rings, and various pieces of jewelry. Alex stood awkwardly in the middle, glancing at a pair of earrings with small pink hearts dangling from them. He sighed in relief, thinking, At least I don't have pierced ears, or they'd be forcing these on me right now.
His brief moment of peace was shattered when Amy came up behind him and gently touched his earlobe. "Oh, really? That's a shame," she said with mock disappointment. She turned to the others. "Girls, can you believe it? Alex doesn't have pierced ears!"
Alex couldn't help but smile, thinking maybe, just maybe, he'd caught a break. But Stacey quickly returned with a collection of jewelry.
"Don't worry, we'll work around that," she said cheerfully. She draped a silver necklace with pink charms around his neck, followed by a bracelet adorned with tiny hearts. As a final touch, she slipped several rings onto his fingers, one of them shaped like a tiara.
Pleased with their choices, the girls paid for the jewelry and added yet another layer to Alex's punishment. He stood there, covered in dainty, girly accessories, a dress, and make up everywhere, silently begging for this nightmare to end.
"Is that everything?" Alex muttered to himself, hoping they were finally done.
After a short walk, the girls stopped and turned toward Alex. "Well, Alexis," Amy said with a grin, "this has been an amazing day! Don't you think?"
Stacey and Jade nodded in agreement, their faces lit up with excitement. Alex was silence, hoping he didnt had to awnser. "But," Amy continued, her grin widening, "we've saved the best for last. Time for the grand finale."
Alex's heart sank. He thought the day was finally over, but apparently, the girls had one more trick up their sleeves. Stacey pulled out two pink envelopes and handed them to him. "You can only choose one to keep," she explained, "but you can't look inside."
"What's in them?" Alex asked, his voice tinged with anxiety.
"We can give you a hint," Amy said with a sly smile, "but it'll cost you."
"Cost me? What do you mean?" Alex asked, his nerves on edge.
"Oh, nothing major," Jade chimed in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Just a... picture. Of you, of course."
Alex recoiled. "No way! Absolutely not."
"Then choose," Stacey said, crossing her arms.
With no other option, Alex sighed and opened the envelope in his right hand. As he read the note inside, his eyes widened in horror.
"No... please, no," he begged, clutching the paper.
"Oh, which one did you pick?" the girls asked, leaning in eagerly.
"I can't do this. Please, anything but this," Alex pleaded, but they simply snatched the note from his hand and burst into laughter.
"Oh my God, Alexis, this is perfect!" Amy teased. "I would love this."
"Me too," Jade and Stacey added, clearly delighted.
The note read: Well done shopping! Now take everything you wore and tried on today—clothes, makeup, shoes—and hand it all over to your sister. She and your mom will replace everything in your room with these new items.
Alex's heart raced. "Please don't make me do this," he whispered, but the girls were relentless. They handed him the bags, filled with all the humiliating items they'd bought. There was no escape.
From across the mall, Alex spotted his sister, Felicia, looking at her phone. He took a deep breath and reluctantly approached her, bags in hand. When she saw him, she burst into laughter.
"Oh my God, how many more times are you going to show up like a girl?" she asked, still giggling.
"I don't want this, Felicia," Alex said, his voice heavy with defeat.
Her laughter faded as she noticed the serious expression on his face. "Wait... if you don't want this, then why do you keep showing up like this?" she asked, confused.
"I... I'm being forced to do this," Alex finally admitted, his voice cracking under the weight of his words.
Felicia's eyes widened in shock. "What? Mom told me you were off playing soccer and making big money! She said you were happy."
Alex looked at her, equally stunned. "What are you talking about?"
Felicia hesitated for a moment, then continued. "I overheard Mom and Dad talking one night. They were in trouble with money, and Mom said something about sending you away for it. But she didn't send you to a soccer camp, did she? This... this is what she meant."
The realization hit Alex like a ton of bricks. His parents had sent him to this hell for money. The betrayal stung, but before he could respond, the girls approached, interrupting the moment.
"Isn't Alexis just stunning?" Stacey teased, oblivious to the tension.
Felicia clenched her fist, but Alex gently grabbed her hand, stopping her. He handed her the bags, his heart heavy. "I have to give you these," he said quietly.
Felicia took the bags, her face filled with disbelief and sadness as she watched her brother being dragged away by the girls.
As they drove him back to the facility, Alex sat in silence, his mind reeling from everything he had just learned. His own parents had sent him into this nightmare for money. He wasn't sad anymore—he was furious.
When they finally arrived back at the facility, Alex was taken to his room, where he sat in a daze, consumed by his thoughts. A soft knock on the door broke the silence.
"Come in," he said quietly.
It was Ember, her face filled with concern. "Hey... I see they went all out today, huh?"
Alex nodded, still lost in his thoughts. "They did. But that's not why I'm upset."
Ember sat down beside him, her expression serious. "Did they make you do something worse?"
Alex shook his head. "No... or, well, yes, but that's not it. I just found out something about my parents..."
He told Ember everything—about his parents' financial troubles, the lie about soccer, and how they had sent him to this facility to make money.
Ember listened carefully, her face growing more serious with each passing detail. "So they sent you here because they needed money?"
Alex nodded, feeling the anger bubbling inside him. "It all makes sense now. They never questioned why I was gone for so long. They're in on it."
"I can't believe this," Ember said softly. "What are you going to do?"
"I need answers," Alex replied, his voice firm. "Can you take me to the Lady?"
