Alex turns completely red from embarrassment as he finds himself eye to eye with Daisy. He doesn't know her well, except that she's always sitting with a group of girls at the table where Alex and his friends usually sit.

"Uhm, yes, I can explain," Alex said, face burning red. He just wanted to run away but couldn't.

"No need, I've seen you on Jade's channel. How do you know her?" Daisy asked with interest.

"We... uhmm, we're friends..." Alex stuttered.

"No way! With such an icon! I never knew you liked makeup until the stream this weekend. I can't remember you wearing any except for today," she said.

"I uhm..." Alex started, but then he realized something. Except for Max and Roy—because of the threat of the Lady—no one would remember anything about his makeover today. The Lady did that to keep the laughter and embarrassment alive, he figured. So Alex quickly turned his mind 180 degrees. "I like it. I never wore it to school before because of, you know... the weird looks," he lied.

"So brave of you to just think, 'forget it, I'm gonna do what I like.' If you ever want some help with eyeliner, for example, let me know. I'd love to help you out," Daisy said, giggling at the word eyeliner, remembering how horribly Alex had applied it during his stream.

"Thanks," Alex chuckled a bit. "I've got to go—nice speaking to you," he said and turned around.

"I liked it too! Oh, by the way, those lips really slay."

Alex turned red again, thanked her quickly, and rushed out of the restrooms. This day couldn't go any more wrong, he thought.

After finishing the lesson, Alex and his friends sat at their usual spot. Alex saw Daisy take her place at the other table and wave her hand. He waved awkwardly back at her.

"So, I've read your note," Max said behind his hand, barely audible. Alex nodded. "I believe you—and I have a plan, but I can't tell you here and now," Max continued.

"Thanks," Alex said quietly.

The break was over, and the day went on. Another hour passed, and Alex had to wear a new lipstick. More and more hours went by with Alex applying and wearing different lipsticks and glosses. The last hour came, and Alex had to apply the worst lipstick on the list.

He went to the restrooms again, but this time carefully looked around to make sure that group wasn't there again.

He slipped into the right bathroom and checked to see if no other boys were inside. He opened his handbag and searched for the right lipstick—Pink Magical Unicorn Dual Lipstick. He twisted up the first part and applied it. His lips instantly turned neon pink with a bit of shimmer. Applying it already took some time. He waved his hand to make his lips dry faster. As he did, he caught sight of himself in the mirror—waving like that looked so feminine that he immediately stopped, embarrassed by his own reflection.

He grabbed the lipstick again and twisted open the gloss side. The gloss itself already looked like a rainbow in the light. It made him sick knowing his lips would soon have the same effect. Slowly, he went over the pink lipstick with the gloss. The coating made his lips shift colors depending on how the light hit them. If that wasn't bad enough, it added even more shimmer and made the glitter stand out. He stared at his reflection for a while—it was the worst lipstick he had ever had to wear. And now, he had to leave the restroom for everyone to see.

As he opened the door, he sighed in relief. "Phew, no one this time," he thought, and walked out. Alex was safe for now.

He went to his next lesson.

Because of the time he'd spent applying the lipstick, the class was already full. Max and Roy sat together, and Ember was with another girl. Alex scanned the room and found a free table. As he walked to it, he felt everyone's eyes on him—staring at his lips. The shimmering effect and color-shifting gloss made them sparkle like a disco ball.

The teacher began the lesson as if nothing unusual was happening. Meanwhile, the class whispered and laughed quietly. Then the door opened—it was Daisy, apparently late. She looked around, spotted Alex, and smiled as she walked over to the empty seat next to him.

"Hi there," she said with a smile.

"Hi," Alex replied.

At first, they sat in silence, following the lesson. Alex noticed her glancing at him now and then. A strange urge to look back crept up on him. He tried to resist, knowing it would be awkward if they locked eyes—but he gave in, just for a peek.

Of course, what he feared came true. Their eyes met, and both quickly looked away.

"Sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable by looking at you," Daisy said a few seconds later. "I'm just so captivated by your lips—they're gorgeous! I mean, none of my lipsticks have this effect."

"Thank you!" he said, playing along. He didn't want the moment to get any more awkward. "It's uhhh... new."

"Really? That's so cool! What's it called and where did you get it?" Daisy asked enthusiastically.

Alex had already forgotten the name of the lipstick—he didn't want to know. He just wanted to skip it or take it off as soon as possible. He opened his pink handbag and searched for the right one among the others. "It's uhh... Pink Magical Unicorn Dual Lipstick," he said awkwardly.

"Oh my! That's really adorbs!" she said. "Uhmm... do you mind if I try it on as well?"

"No, not at all!" Alex said.

She applied it and showed it off to Alex. He hadn't realized until then that by letting Daisy use it, he could see the lipstick's full effect—seeing exactly what he was wearing himself. It made him feel even more awkward, but Daisy was so happy that it made him smile anyway.

They talked a lot about all kinds of things—makeup, life, friends. The lesson passed quickly. When it ended, he said goodbye and joined Ember.

"Made a friend today?" she asked with a teasing grin.

"It was so awkward!" he replied as they walked toward the exit together.
