"I BET YOU Grace is a good kid, but not three hundred dollars worth." Delores stared in horror at the price of the DreamHouse, while light Christmas music played in the toy store.

"It's not that much." Five shrugged, staring at the overly bright and pink picture of the house on the large box.

Delores narrowed her eyes at Five, a sickness pooling in her stomach at the sight of his face, "In this economy?" she raised an eyebrow, "Hell no."

Five finished off his coffee and tossed it into a nearby trash can, "Come on. Help me lift it." he said, pulling the large box from the shelf.

Delores rolled her eyes, "Alright."

Delores was sitting on the floor with Five, cigarettes in both of their mouths.

Five's apartment was cold. Delores had been over twice before, just because he needed to pick something up before they went to the movies, and he left his ID in his dresser.

His apartment was always cold. It was dull. It lacked any kind of color other than dark brown, blue, white, and black.

"Wait, no," Delores mumbled, her sickness slowly fading away, since they weren't in a similar situation that they had been in a past timeline.

"Stop." Five scoffed, swatting her hand from the wrapping paper.

Delores rolled her eyes and tapped her cigarette on the side of the ashtray between them, the excess ash falling from the end of her cigarette.

"She needs color in her life," Delores argued with a small glare on her face.

Five had bought black wrapping paper, and a pink bow, and insisted it was fine.

"She'll have plenty when she unwraps it." he said, referring to the pink hues that covered the box.

"Fine. Fine." Delores rolled her eyes again and grabbed the tape that was beside her.

Five lined up the wrapping paper around the box, and kept glaring at Delores when she would try to tape it. He kept insisting it 'wasn't even'.
