『 dysfunctional family 』

LUTHER TRIED TO thumb a ride as everyone else ached and stood around staring at the state of the car.
The van car door was open, and Delores stared at her feet hanging out of the van as she was sat on the seat, leaning her head against the door that was open, a barf bag in hand.
She kept throwing up when she looked at everyone, and the pain that was surging through her body didn't help her nausea.
Five was leaning on the car, his hand messing with Delores's hair while Viktor was sitting in the front seat with the door open.
Delores felt like she was going to topple over and die right in that moment because of how shitty she felt.
Her arm was grazed, she still was sick from the marigold, she just got into the worst car accident of her life, and she was having extreme déjà vu— while being surrounded by the people who caused her the most sickness.
A few cuts scattered Delores's face, and Five kept staring at her since she reminded him of when Phoenix got hurt by Harlan and had cuts all around her features.
A deep sigh left Delores's lungs, as she watched Five stuff his hand in his pocket— trying to warm his hand.
Delores let out a small laugh at the action, and let go of the empty barf bag— letting the empty bag sit in her lap, as she held gently grabbed his hand from her hair, and his other hand from his pocket.
He raised an eyebrow at her, and she put her hands over his cold hands, sandwiching them together, and rubbing her hands over his— ignoring the stinging pain in her arm.
Five let out a small scoff, trying not to smile— mainly not wanting his family to see him cheesing over Delores.
She began to blow onto his hands, her warm breath warming his cold hands.
But of course, their sweet moment had to be cut short.
"Leave it to this clown car of a family to botch a simple search and rescue." Ben huffed, pushing off the fence he was leaning on.
Luther lowered his thumb— no cars in sight, "For a second there, we had her." Luther said, glancing over his shoulder at Ben, then back out onto the long and empty snowy road.
