『 delores and five 』
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
DELORES CAN'T BELIEVE she's doing this.
After Lila and the rest of the family argue about whether she should stay, Delores hopped on and said she was going to leave as well.
She's not going to. It's just to get her mom out of here.
Delores's hands were shaking as she and her mom walked side by side through the subway, while Lila played around with her children assuring them it was alright.
Five knew that Delores was faking, and he hated that he was letting her fake her mom out, but he couldn't let her mom stay here, not that woman who was the kindest he met- besides Delores.
The subway swung into the station, as Lila ushered everyone in, and Grace held onto Delores's coat- and Delores's felt sick.
It all was so familiar. Feeling sick.
Stepping into the subway with her mother, beside Lila, she swallowed thickly, as she faced the door that hadn't closed yet.
It felt like the world was in slow motion as the PA chimed and her mother grinned at her, while Grace let go of her coat. It felt slow when she fell onto her foot, stepping out of the subway, as Lila copied the action, the doors hissing shut behind her.
Everyone shouted from within the subway, banging on the windows, and Delores didn't have the heart to turn around- but she had to.
She spun on her foot, her mom staring at her through the glass with glossy eyes, while Grace shouted for her mother who was standing in the station rather than with her.
Delores mouthed an 'I'm sorry', her eyes glossed over with tears, as she tried to hold a smile, while Lila attempted to comfort her daughter.
Her ears were ringing violently and everything felt muffled while her heart pounded loudly in her ears, making it difficult for Delores to focus while she stared at her mom who began to crumble into a fit of sobs behind the glass.
The subway began to take off, picking up speed as Lila began to chase after it, shouting advice to her family as she chased after the train.
Delores stayed glued to her spot, as tears slowly trailed down her cheeks, her expression falling blank as she glanced up to see Five coming down the stairs.
