PHOENIX LEFT THE party, grabbing a new champagne bottle, then heading out the back door, into the
now— destroyed yard.

Phoenix sat down on the concrete, staring at the trees that were burning. She held her face in her hands and silently sobbed, whatever little bits of makeup that was on her face was now smeared.

"God, you're stupid." she uttered to herself, leaning her head against the outside wall of the house that was behind her, keeping her eyes closed shut, and her hands on her face.

"I don't know if that's the word I'd used to describe you." a familiar voice rang through her ears.

She opened her eyes, and uncovered her face, staring up at Five, "What the hell, do you want?" Phoenix snapped— she was hostile, since she was scared that he saw her crying, not wanting him to see her vulnerable.

"Okay." Five clicked his tongue, before going to sit next to her on the concrete, also pressing his back against the house.

She sipped the bottle of the sweet champagne that made her want to puke, and Five glanced at her as she sat it down., "Did you want to talk abo-" Five started, in an almost awkward tone, not sure what to say.

"No." Phoenix deadpanned, cutting Five off.

"Alright." he sat back, grabbing the bottle that sat between them, before taking a swig.

The silence that soaked the air, was suffocating. Their words didn't come out as smooth anymore. It felt natural talking with Five, but right now? It was horrible.

Phoenix already was a mess, and she purposely went outside to disappear from everyone.

She picked and chewed on her nails, as Five stared at her, "Maybe you should've listened to your future self," Phoenix muttered.

"Why? We just saved the world?" he furrowed his eyebrows at her, stating the obvious.

"Never mind." she went to get up, but he pulled her by the wrist, making her sit back down, "Stop." she shook him off.

She got up and began to walk, Five blipped in front of the girl, grabbing both her shoulders.

"Okay, something's wrong, you were crying, so just tell me." Five said in a more stern tone— not wanting her to shut him out.
