Chapter 75.

As the waiter "accidentally" stumbled, a tray full of sparkling drinks arcing toward Ae Cha, time seemed to slow. The glasses caught the overhead lighting, casting tiny rainbows through the room as the liquid spilled midair. Gasps rippled through the crowd, eyes turning toward Ae Cha, waiting for her reaction, anticipating her humiliation.

But Ae Cha didn't flinch. She gracefully sidestepped, her posture upright, and her eyes sharp as a hawk. She accepted the waiter's flustered apology, her mind already seeing through the trap. The waiter, with false humility, offered her a change of clothes, his eyes carefully obscuring his intent.

Inwardly, Ae Cha sighed. She knew Lee Ari's schemes far too well by now, recognizing the telltale signs of another petty attempt to embarrass her. She could practically feel her sister's eyes watching her from some hidden corner, waiting for her to slip and falter. If she ignored the apology, Ari would claim that she was arrogant, mistreating the "poor, clumsy" waiter. If she followed to get a change of clothes, she would likely walk into another trap. Perhaps a compromising situation, or worse, an embarrassing "accident."

But Ae Cha was no longer the weak girl the Lee family had once bullied and underestimated.

With a subtle smile, she replied, "Thank you for the offer. Lead the way." She gestured for the waiter to walk ahead, her voice calm, almost sweet.

As she walked, she discreetly signaled Shin Young, her assistant, and two of the disguised bodyguards. Their eyes met briefly, and understanding passed silently between them. While maintaining her composed demeanor, Ae Cha was orchestrating her own counterplan, making sure this little game of Ari's would backfire spectacularly.

Upstairs, Lee Ari trailed behind them, keeping her distance but keeping her eyes locked on her prey. She smirked, envisioning the look of horror that would soon grace her sister's face once the second part of her plan unfolded. In just a few moments, everything would come crashing down for Ae Cha.

However, just as Ari moved into the hallway leading to the guest room, she felt a hand firmly cover her mouth from behind. Before she could react, darkness overwhelmed her as she was swiftly knocked unconscious by one of Ae Cha's disguised bodyguards. The guard caught her limp body before it could hit the floor, dragging her quietly out of sight.

A similar fate awaited the waiter, who barely had time to blink as he reached the guest room door before being silently subdued and carried away by the second bodyguard.

Twenty minutes later, Su Jin nervously wrung her hands in the banquet hall, following her mother's instructions down to the last detail. Now, it was her time to shine. Glancing around at the gathered elite, she put on her best act of alarm, rushing toward the center of the room.

"I-I can't find my aunt, Ae Cha! She went upstairs with a waiter to change, but now neither of them are anywhere to be found!" Her voice trembled, deliberately loud enough to catch the attention of nearby guests, who instantly began murmuring amongst themselves. Some of them already smelled a scandal brewing.

The room buzzed with excitement, curiosity piqued as guests exchanged looks and whispers. This was precisely what Su Jin had hoped for—an audience for the impending drama. In her mind, it was perfect. Her mother had ensured everything was ready to bring Ae Cha's downfall into public view. Now, she only had to direct everyone's attention upstairs.

Some more eager guests, like sharks circling fresh bait, began walking toward the stairs, following Su Jin's lead. However, what awaited them was far from what they had anticipated.

The soft click of high heels echoed through the hallway as Ae Cha made her way up the staircase to the second floor, aware of the commotion gathering at the guest room. Meanwhile, outside the locked door of the room, scandalized whispers spread like wildfire among the guests. Eyes widened in disbelief, mouths covered in shock, and fingers pointed as muffled, indecent sounds—moaning, gasping—filtered out from behind the locked door.

Choi Su Jin, always the opportunist, stood among the crowd, barely hiding her smirk. She gasped dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest in mock surprise, relishing the shock on everyone's faces. "Well, well, well," Su Jin muttered under her breath, "even if Ae Cha jumped into the Yellow River, she wouldn't be able to cleanse herself from this."

The murmurs around her grew louder, people leaning into each other with barely contained glee at the unfolding drama. The air was thick with tension and excitement, the promise of scandal pulling everyone closer to the locked door.

Suddenly, Mr. Lee, with his wife at his side, arrived at the scene, their son trailing behind with a casual, disinterested air. Mr. Lee's expression was a blend of fury and satisfaction as he barked out, "What is going on here?" His voice boomed, cutting through the whispers. "Someone open that door. Now!"

A waiter nearby, one of Ae Cha's disguised bodyguards, rushed forward to unlock the door, his hands steady as he turned the knob.

The guests were practically vibrating with anticipation, ready to feast on the scandal. They could already imagine the headlines and the gossip they'd spread later that night. 'Ae Cha, the fallen socialite,' they thought, mentally crafting the narratives that would tear her reputation apart.

But just as the door was about to swing open, an elegant, calm voice interrupted the chaos. "What's going on here?"

Everyone froze.

The whispers stopped. The tension shifted from scandal to confusion. Slowly, the crowd turned around to see Ae Cha herself, standing at the top of the stairs. She was the epitome of grace, her outfit flawless—an ivory blouse tucked into a fitted black skirt that hugged her figure tastefully, her makeup fresh and impeccable. Her brows furrowed in genuine confusion as she looked at the crowd gathered by the guest room.

The guests blinked, their shock palpable. "If she's here," they thought, "then who...?"

Mr. Lee, now visibly unsettled, gestured toward the door. "Open it!" he ordered again, his voice lacking the confidence it had moments before.

The waiter obediently twisted the handle and pushed open the door. The lights flickered on, casting an unforgiving glow on the scene inside.

Ari.

There she was, sprawled across the bed, her face flushed and her clothes disheveled, clearly in the throes of whatever drug had been used on her. Her partner, equally shocked, scrambled away from her, pulling up his pants and wiping the panic from his face.

The collective gasp from the guests was like a wave crashing against the walls of the villa. People started snapping photos, gossip spreading like wildfire once again—but this time, the target was clear.

Choi Su Jin's smirk faded into disbelief as she watched her mother's elaborate plan implode spectacularly. Mr. Lee's face twisted in horror, and his jaw tightened as he realized what had happened. The whispers that had moments ago been about Ae Cha now centered on the shocking sight of his biological daughter, Ari, tangled up in this humiliating scandal.

"Isn't that Ari?" "How could she..." "Oh, this is worse than I thought."

Mrs. Lee stood frozen, her eyes wide as she processed what she was seeing. This was not how the evening was supposed to go.

Amidst the chaos, Ae Cha remained calm, her gaze cold as she regarded the spectacle unfolding before her. She caught Ari's eyes—wide and bloodshot, full of embarrassment and anger. With a small, elegant smile, Ae Cha leaned forward just enough for Ari to catch her words.

"It's just begun," Ae Cha mouthed, her lips curving into a knowing smirk before she turned on her heel, walking away with perfect composure.

Ari screamed internally, knowing the position she'd just been thrust into. Her hands clenched into fists as she tried to gather herself, but the damage was already done. The guests were being ushered out of the villa, but not before they exchanged knowing glances and tapped furiously on their phones to send updates to their gossip circles.

As Ae Cha exited the villa, she felt the weight of Ari's glare burning into her back. But there was no need to look back. She had won this round, and there was no turning back now. She was officially in control of the game.
