Chapter 77.

In the dimly lit office, Ji Hu sat hunched over his laptop, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he executed the final steps of his plan. The screen glowed with the lines of code and commands he had written, a live stream of trending topics showing the "Choi Family Wife Exposed for Infidelity During High Society Event" steadily rising to the top of the charts. It wasn't enough to just have it trend; Ji Hu needed it to stay there, stirring the pot long enough to draw out the second branch and the Choi family, forcing them into a desperate move. He leaned back in his chair, a smirk forming on his lips.

He picked up his phone, dialling Man Tae Hyun's number. "It's done," Ji Hu said when Tae Hyun answered, his voice calm and calculated. "Now, let's see how they react."

Meanwhile, across town, Man Tae Hyun lounged comfortably in a plush leather chair in his private study, his fox-like eyes glinting with mischief as he scrolled through the latest headlines. The corners of his mouth curled up into a smirk. This was playing out exactly as he had expected. He had already anticipated how the Choi family would try to save face, and he knew exactly how to exploit that desperation.

Tae Hyun's informant at the Lee family's birthday banquet had provided timely updates. The informant, dressed impeccably in a black suit that blended in with the other guests, had managed to catch wind of Lee Ari and Su Jin's whispered conversations about "humbling" Ae Cha. They had talked about luring her into a trap and using her impurity to shame her in front of society. They were determined to make Ae Cha look like the shameless one, not Ari.

Tae Hyun's eyes narrowed at the thought of them targeting Ae Cha. Not this time, he thought. He was well-prepared, having sent his subordinate in advance to scout out the banquet venue and ensure the rooms were rigged with discreet cameras. As the informant circled the ballroom, Tae Hyun received images of hidden cameras placed in strategic locations—the kind of places where no one would think to look: behind decorative vases, concealed among the ornate moldings. Tae Hyun had ensured that every angle was covered.

Just as Tae Hyun had anticipated, Ae Cha wasn't one to be caught off guard. During the banquet, she had responded to Lee Ari's thinly veiled provocations with a poised smile, her eyes flashing with an unspoken warning. But Tae Hyun didn't trust Ari and Su Jin to leave things at just words. Indeed, his subordinate quickly reported that Su Jin had slipped away, likely to set up whatever trap they had planned for Ae Cha.

"Check the rooms again," Tae Hyun ordered over the phone, his voice low and firm. "And if you see any unusual equipment, make sure it's either disabled or relocated. I want the recordings to show exactly what those two were planning."

Minutes later, the subordinate reported back. "Sir, I found an audio recording device placed near one of the private rooms. It's been dealt with, and I've also planted additional cameras in the rooms that weren't previously covered."

"Good," Tae Hyun replied, a satisfied glint in his eye. "Make sure to retrieve everything after the banquet is over, and send it directly to me. If things go as planned, we're going to make sure the world sees who the real schemers are."

As the night progressed, the tension at the banquet began to mount. The Lees and their high-society guests drank champagne and exchanged pleasantries. In the back of the room, Tae Hyun's informant was discreetly watching for the slightest sign of their scheme unfolding.

The side corridor of the banquet hall buzzed with the usual hum of conversation, but a sudden, rising voice quickly captured the attention of those nearby. The atmosphere shifted as Su Jin's voice echoed loudly, laced with accusation and innuendo. Her tone was theatrical, each word dripping with insinuation.
