Pages of the Past
According to this book, for many years, numerous people in Moonbridge town have claimed to have seen a creature resembling a werewolf. These werewolves have been secretly living alongside humans since ancient times. They can change their form at will.
After receiving multiple reports in Moonbridge town, the police have attempted several times to investigate the forests here. Along with them, animal rescue teams have also searched the area numerous times, hoping to capture any dangerous animal that might be found, ensuring the town's residents can live in peace.
However, forget wolves - not even a dangerous snake was found in these forests. From that day onward, the forests of Moonbridge town were labeled as safe, meaning they were considered free of any danger.
So, although people felt reassured after hearing this and started going to the forests for treks or camping, most still avoided venturing too deep into the woods. This was because rumors continued to spread that werewolves lived in Moonbridge town.
In fact, people even claimed that the occasional fights or conflicts that would happen without any particular reason were caused by these werewolf groups.
It is believed that werewolves live divided into groups, and those who don't belong to any group are called rogues or something similar. There are frequent battles between these werewolf groups or with rogues, and naturally, the humans living near their hiding places get caught up in the effects of these conflicts. Yet, the police never seem to find any concrete evidence of this.
Compared to the old days, such fights are now rare in our Moonbridge town. But back when these fights used to happen, many humans lost their lives.
As the old people of Moonbridge town believe, a major battle took place overnight in the mid-19th century. Many homes were burned down, and several people were killed. No one knows the exact reason for the fight, but according to rumors, an outsider werewolf pack had attacked the werewolves living in Moonbridge town at that time.
A similar incident happened roughly 19 or 20 years ago. The fights erupted overnight, just like before. Once again, houses were burned down, people were killing each other, and others were being taken into the forests. Although this fight wasn't as severe as the one in the 19th century, it still caused significant harm to the people.
"Wow!" Aurora exclaimed after reading, "Did all of this really happen here? I've never heard anything like this before!"
"And is all of this true?" she asked herself, then shook her head, "No, no, how could this be possible? This isn't scientifically possible?"
Then she continued reading, reaching the last pages, where some possible fun facts about werewolves were written:
• Their goddess is the Moon Goddess, who is said to send them their soulmate (partner) from the very beginning.
• Most werewolves are loyal to their soulmate (partner).
• Before transforming from human to wolf, they have to take off their clothes, otherwise, the transformation itself will tear their clothes apart. And when they transform back from wolf to human, obviously, they are naked, and only in their human form do they get dressed again.
• They prefer eating meat.
• When both werewolf soulmates fully accept each other or decide to spend their entire lives together, they mark each other (by biting, or something similar).
• It's believed that some humans are also aware of the existence of werewolves, but no one knows why they don't reveal it. However, some theories suggest that this happens because those werewolves are...
But that's where the last bit of the page was torn.
"Agh!" Aurora exclaimed, " And what? Did the page have to tear right at the end? I read everything, but at the last part..."
Frustrated, she went to Mr. Evans to talk about the book. But he told her that the book had been sitting there for who knows how long, and he didn't even remember when it arrived. He also wasn't sure whether the information was true or not.
She left the library and decided to take a walk to clear her mind. The town was peaceful in the late afternoon, the streets bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. It was already 6 PM.
"Who would have thought that such silly rumors would spread in a place like this? It felt like reading some teenage fiction, hmph!" Saying this, she started heading home.
But once again, the same thing happened-her gaze was drawn toward the woods along the path. Her heart really wanted to go, but her mind was restricting her, reminding her not to repeat the foolishness from the day before.
And just like that, the thought crossed her mind, "But... what if that werewolf stuff is true?"
I mean, I did see that wolf in the woods... but it was just a normal wolf, right? Did people back then start calling a regular wolf a werewolf just like that?"
I mean... where there's smoke, there's fire, right?
And the wolf I saw kind of reminded me of Edwin...."
"...Could Edwin also be a werewol---" she shook off those unrestricted thoughts from her mind.
"What am I even thinking? I've gone crazy, thinking about all this," she said to herself.
Just as she was about to continue on her way, she suddenly heard the sound of someone-or something-running fast from within the woods. When she looked closely, she saw an animal. It was a wolf, but not the same one she had seen yesterday.
The wolf was pitch black with black eyes, running deeper into the forest. Seeing it stirred Aurora's curiosity even more, and without thinking, she followed it into the woods.
She started running, chasing the black wolf. She stopped at the tree line, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and anticipation, as she could no longer see the wolf. It was as if it had vanished into thin air.
Just then, from behind her, a guy appeared. The guy was an imposing figure at 6'5" tall, with dark skin and neatly styled brown hair. His sharp black eyes conveyed intensity. He wore a crisp white shirt that accentuated his strong physique and gray pants, exuding confidence and authority.
Startled by the sudden appearance of the guy behind her, she jumped.
The brown-haired guy asked, "Who are you? And how did you get here?"

Let me clarify something about my werewolf world.
In my story, wolves and humans are not separate entities. Unlike many werewolf stories I’ve come across on Wattpad, where the wolf form has a distinct name, personality, and thoughts separate from the human form, my story doesn’t follow that concept.
I find this idea unnecessary and irrelevant to the logic of my narrative.
In my world, the wolf and human forms are one and the same—there is no division between them.
