Shadows of Doubt
"You've been distant, even over the phone. Ever since you saw what happened that day... you've been pulling away. I just want to understand what you're feeling, but I need you to be honest with me."
Aurora's throat tightened as she looked away, her emotions bubbling to the surface.
Her hands clenched at her sides as she forced herself to find the words. "Edwin, I... I don't know?"
" I just... don't know how to process it all. Seeing you like that-fighting for your life, knowing they literally came here to kill you... it's left me shaken." Her voice wavered as she continued, "I thought I could do this, be strong for us, but now... I'm questioning everything."
Edwin took a careful step closer, his face filled with empathy, and reassuring.
"I know it's a lot to take in. I wish I could take away all your doubts and fears. But what you're feeling? It's valid. It's natural to feel this way."
A tear slipped down Aurora's cheek, and she looked up at him, her voice breaking.
"It's not just fear. It's the love I have for you and the fear that it might not be enough. What if I can't handle this?" She drew in a shaky breath.
"I don't have any family. I learned to live alone... but then you came into my life, and now, at this point, I can't even imagine losing you."
Edwin's gaze softened, his normally guarded expression melting as he gently brushed a hand against Aurora's cheek.
"Aurora," he murmured, his voice laced with a quiet intensity, "love isn't always easy. Facing something as extraordinary as this will test us. But love is about choosing to face those challenges together. Your love for me, your willingness to stand by me-that's more than enough."
Her voice trembled as she spoke.
"But what if I can't live up to that? If you leave me right now for anything... I... I won't be able to live. That's why I'm having second thoughts-maybe we should... just end this here!"
"Stop it." Edwin's expression turned fierce, the tenderness in his eyes replaced by determination as he shook his head.
He took a step closer, his gaze unwavering.
"You're not weak, Aurora! I'm here with you, and we'll find our way through this. It's okay to be scared, but that doesn't mean you should jump straight to ...breaking up?!"
Aurora looked away, her face shadowed with doubt as she whispered, "No, I think... maybe this is the right thing to do."
She turned, intending to leave.
But Edwin, who had longed for her for what felt like an eternity, wasn't about to let her slip away so easily. In one swift movement, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her firmly against him. Her back hit the wall, and his grip was unwavering, leaving her with no way to escape.
Emotionally, Aurora struggled, whispering, "Let... let go of me. This is the right thing."
"Don't even think about it," Edwin growled, his hold on her tightening, his voice a blend of passion and resolve.
"You might have said those words today, but don't you dare let them cross your lips again, baby."
Edwin's gaze darkened with an intense passion as he leaned in, capturing Aurora's lips with a possessive kiss, one that left no question of his intentions. His mouth traveled along her neck, trailing gentle yet searing love bites that made her heart race, marking her as his in a way that felt both thrilling and terrifying.
"Ed... Edwin!" she gasped, feeling her emotions swirl wildly, unable to suppress the flood of tears that slipped down her cheeks. Her voice quivered, raw and vulnerable.
"... I'm scared."
Noticing the fear in her tear-filled eyes, Edwin's expression softened. The fire in his gaze faded into something warmer, something reassuring. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a comforting embrace, his hand gently stroking her back as he held her close. The world seemed to still as she melted into his arms, finding solace in his unwavering presence.
When the tension had ebbed, Aurora looked up at him, her face etched with uncertainty.
"Edwin, do you really think we can do this?"
Edward's eyes met hers with an unshakable resolve.
"Baby, I've already made you mine. I've imprinted you as my own-there's no going back now."
He cupped her face tenderly, his voice a low promise. "I know this is all new for you, but with time, you'll learn to handle it. And I'll be by your side through every moment. I'm not going anywhere."
A flicker of doubt remained, but as she looked into his eyes, her fears began to quiet. In that moment, she let herself lean into his strength, wrapping her arms around him and holding on, finding a sense of safety that only he could give her.
That night, Aurora was still very confused about her relationship. As she somehow drifted into a restless sleep, her mind slipped into a dream that was both mysterious and undeniably erotic.
In the dream, she found herself lying in a shadowed room, barely lit, an air of anticipation filling the stillness. The bed beneath her felt soft, and she was dressed in a simple white gown that contrasted against the dark atmosphere.
The silence was thick, broken only by her soft breaths as a presence stirred in the shadows.
A figure approached her-a wolf, its fur a rich brown, its eyes an arresting shade of blue, gleaming with a fierce yet gentle intent. It moved closer, its gaze never leaving hers, until it stood towering over her, its warmth radiating against her skin.
Aurora's heart raced as the wolf's claws lightly traced the edge of her gown, tugging the fabric away with a delicate yet deliberate touch.
With a gentle motion, it slipped one of her dress straps off her shoulder, exposing her milky breasts to the cool air, and placed a warm paw gently over her pink nipple.
A shiver ran through her as she felt its touch-a mix of warmth, comfort, and a surge of unfamiliar sensation.
" ~ Ah "
The wolf's gaze remained steady, almost reassuring, as it slid the other strap down, placing its second paw upon her other nipple, mirroring its soft but firm touch. Its paws began to trace gentle, circular motions to her nipples, filling her with a strange mixture of pleasure and longing.
" Ahh ~ "
