A Surprise Visit
Edwin leaned in, his gaze warm and intense, his breath brushing softly against Aurora’s skin.
His lips moved close to her ear as he murmured, “Just what you're hearing.” He trailed gentle, lingering kisses along her neck, the touch sending a ripple of warmth through her.
Aurora laughed, her cheeks flushed, playfully placing her hands against his chest to stop him.
“Wait, wait! Listen, listen!” she giggled, her eyes shining with curiosity.
“Are you saying we should live together?”
Edwin’s expression softened, his eyes locked onto hers.
“If it were up to me, I’d marry you and bring you home,” he admitted, his voice carrying the weight of his feelings. “But right now, I can't marry you. So, maybe we could move in together for now, and then, when things are right, we’ll get married?”
Surprised, Aurora blinked, processing his words.
“Really?” she asked, her heart pounding at the unexpected proposal.
He nodded, seriousness in his gaze.
For her, this was a huge step.
“Um… seriously?” She searched his face, unsure and yet moved by his sincerity.
Edwin watched her, sensing her hesitation.
“What happened?” he asked gently. “Say something.”
Aurora’s gaze fell to the floor, her fingers twisting nervously.
“I’ve never lived with anyone before… I mean, you understand, right? I’m an orphan, I…”
“I know,” Edwin said quietly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Take all the time you need. I know it’s sudden, but… I’d love an answer soon. And hopefully, a yes.”
She hesitated. “But… like this…”
Realizing her lingering doubts, Edwin smiled and placed a finger over her lips, silencing her with a gentle “Shh.”
He pulled her close, wrapping her in his arms, letting the warmth between them speak what words couldn’t.
Then Aurora closed up the café, and together, she and Edwin slipped into his sleek car. The city lights flickered past as they headed out, Edwin’s hand resting confidently on the steering wheel, his gaze focused ahead.
Curious, Aurora asked, “How’s everything going with the pack by the way?”
“We’re managing,” Edwin replied, his hand gripping the wheel with a reassuring strength.
“Our Beta and Gamma are back, and we have the proof we needed.”
She turned to him, her eyes lighting up with curiosity.
“So, you have evidence?”
He nodded. “Yeah. We’re sending it out to the other werewolf packs so they’ll know exactly what the Red Pack has been doing to our kind.”
As he spoke, Aurora’s gaze wandered, taking in the powerful curve of his shoulders, the way his veins traced down his muscular forearms, and the easy strength in his hands as he handled the car.
she thought, a bit entranced, ' Wow, my boyfriend is so incredibly handsome and strong. How sexy! '
Edwin’s mouth quirked up as he caught her looking, stealing a quick, amused glance in her direction.
