Dinner Date
Aurora gazed out over her beautiful town. Since it's almost nighttime and the sun is absent, all the houses are lit up with lights, which looks quite beautiful from up here.
"Wow! So bright, so beautiful!"
Edwin stood beside her, a satisfied smile on his face. "Isn't it?" he replied, sharing in her awe.
Aurora then turned to him, a playful glint in her eye. "But I thought you were going to take me out for dinner." Her words carried a teasing note, adding a layer of flirtation to the moment.
The night was calm as Edwin led Aurora down the path, the soft crunch of gravel under their feet the only sound. After a few moments, they emerged at an open, beautifully lit restaurant. Strands of lights were woven through the trees, casting a soft glow across the tables set under the open sky.
Aurora's eyes widened as she took in the scene. "I didn't even know there was a restaurant here?"
Edwin, with a teasing smile, escorted her inside. "Well, now you do."
They sat down at a table near the edge, where they had an unobstructed view of the stars above. A waiter approached, took their order, and Aurora couldn't help but notice the familiar exchange between him and Edwin.
As the waiter walked away, Aurora turned to Edwin, curious. "Have you been here before?"
Edwin, "A few times."
Aurora shook her head in disbelief. "It's amazing. I've been living here for years, and I didn't know about such a great spot. And you do?"
Edwin leaned back in his chair, his gaze steady. "That's because it's not meant for regular humans."
Aurora blinked, momentarily stunned. "What?"
"This place," Edwin said, "is for the Moonbridge werewolves. It's our spot."
Aurora stared at him, her mind racing. She opened her mouth to speak but couldn't find the words at first. "So, why did you bring me here?"
Edwin gave her a soft smile, his voice gentle but firm. "Did you forget? I told you that now you're my mate. That means you're one of us. And you're allowed here."
Aurora hesitated, still processing everything. "But... this is a secret, isn't it?"
"Exactly," Edwin nodded. "Which is why you can't share this with anyone. Not even by accident."
Aurora took a deep breath, her thoughts settling as she glanced around the magical place. With a small grin, she gave Edwin a thumbs up. "Alright. Your secret's safe with me."
The mood shifted as Aurora nervously glanced at Edwin, her curiosity blending with uncertainty.
"And what if... if I accidentally tell someone about all this-about werewolves and everything-what would happen? To me? "
Edwin's gaze softened as he leaned closer, his tone calm and reassuring.
"I know you wouldn't be careless like that. But," he paused, "if it does happen, we'd have to come clean. We'd inform the Alpha right away, and then apologize to the entire pack."
Aurora's heart raced, but Edwin's confidence in her eased her nerves. He smiled warmly. "Honestly, they'd probably forgive you. You'd just get a warning to be more careful next time."
Aurora exhaled in relief, feeling a strange warmth knowing how much faith he had in her. But the weight of everything still loomed, and she couldn't shake the thought of what lay ahead.
"So... does this mean I'll have to meet your werewolf Alpha? And, uh... what do they call them? Luna, Beta, Gamma, and all the others?"
Edwin chuckled softly, as if her question had an obvious answer. "Of course. How else are we going to get married without meeting them?"
Aurora's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat. "Wait... is it really necessary? Like, can't we just-"
Before she could finish, Edwin sensed her fear. He reached out, gently placing his hand on hers. "Hey, don't worry. They're just like us. There's nothing to be afraid of. They're normal people, just with a few... extra abilities."
Aurora looked down at their hands, still unsure. "If you say so," she whispered, though doubt lingered in her voice.
Edwin shifted in his seat, leaning in with a bit of humor lighting his eyes.
"Oh, and by the way, we don't have a Luna yet. Just so you know."
" Hm?" Aurora tilted her head in confusion. "What? What do you mean?"
Edwin shrugged casually, as if it was no big deal. "I mean that our Alpha and Luna haven't, you know, made things official yet."
Aurora asked, "Why not?"
Edwin said, "Uh, I'm not entirely sure, but... maybe it's because Luna didn't even know she was a werewolf. Somehow, her family hid it from her, and only the Alpha made her realize her true identity."
"And now, all of this is a lot for her to take in. You know, finding out she's a werewolf herself, that she's the Alpha's mate, that she's the pack's Luna, and then there's her family, so..."
"I see," Aurora said, "What a complicated story."
As the waiter carefully placed their meals in front of them, the soft candlelight from the table cast a warm glow over the dishes. The aroma filled the air, inviting them to dig in.
On one plate, there was a perfectly grilled steak, its edges charred just right, while a bed of sautéed vegetables-zucchini, bell peppers, and asparagus-added color to the presentation. Another plate held a delicate dish of saffron-infused rice, lightly garnished with fresh herbs, with a side of warm, crusty bread accompanied by a silky garlic-butter dip.
Aurora's eyes widened as she took her first bite, savoring the explosion of flavors. "Yum! It's really good."
Edwin watched her with a content smile, pleased to see her enjoying the meal. The warmth between them grew, not just from the food, but from the ease of their conversation
As they continued eating, the lighthearted talk flowed naturally.
They swapped stories and preferences, diving into everything from their favorite foods to small details about each other. Edwin was curious, "What's your favourite favourite food?"
Aurora smiled. "I think it has to be pasta. What about you?"
"Mine is steak, without a doubt," Edwin replied with a grin, cutting into his own meal.
The conversation continued to bounce between fun and playful topics-what brands of clothes she preferred, the perfume she wore, her favorite chocolates, and even what kind of shows she liked to watch.
Aurora laughed when they debated the best sports, admitting she wasn't much of a fan but loved watching people compete. Edwin, on the other hand, revealed a competitive streak, especially in his love for football.
"Do you prefer home-cooked meals or takeouts?" Edwin asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Aurora pondering for a second. "Home-cooked meals, hands down," she said, smiling softly. "There's something comforting about it and It has more nutrients compared to outside. "
As the night went on, the stars glittered above them, adding to the charm of the open-air restaurant. They finished their meal, the empty plates a testament to the delightful dinner they'd shared.
When they stood up to leave, Edwin reached for her hand gently. Just as they were about to step out of the cozy, fairy-lit setting, a familiar face approached Edwin-a casual acquaintance, perhaps someone from his world?
