Healing Bonds
"You’re hurt," she said, her voice thick with emotion. "I can’t stand to see you like this."
Despite his exhaustion, Edwin managed a playful smirk.
"Then don’t look," he teased, his tone light even as his body screamed in pain.
“You’re still in the mood to joke, aren’t you?” she says, trying to lift the spirits around her.
Nearby, the pack’s healer, a calm and composed figure, reassures her while expertly bandaging another injured member.
"Don’t worry too much, he’s strong," the healer says, a faint smile on their face, offering hope amidst the chaos.
Alpha Alex, standing tall despite his injuries, his face etched with determination, adds with unwavering confidence, “He’ll pull through.”
Beside him stands Becky, her expression a mixture of nervousness and resolve, her eyes darting toward Aurora.
“Uh, hey,” Becky begins glancing at Aurora.
“I didn’t know you were the pack’s Luna?” Aurora voice carries a hint of surprise.
She continued to ask, “ Do you remember me?”
A smile of familiarity softens Becky's face.
“Of course. You’re Edwin’s mate, and we first met that day on the street.”
The realization makes Edwin and Alex exchange curious looks, both seemingly surprised by the revelation.
“You two know each other?” Alex asks, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah,” Becky replies with a slight laugh.
“Do you remember how upset I was that day, rambling about strange things? The truth is, I was struggling because, after moving to this town with my dad, I found out I was Alex’s mate. And not just that—he’s the Alpha, which meant I became the Luna.”
Alex interjects, his tone laced with a playful mock,“What do you mean by ‘became’? Do you know how long it took for you to accept me?”
Becky laughs lightly, brushing her hair back nervously. “That’s true. "
" And then I found out something even more shocking—that my late mother was a werewolf too. Because of her, I also have werewolf powers. My dad knew all along but never told me. It was a lot to take in when I discovered it.”
Aurora listens intently, piecing the story together.
“And that day, you were struggling to decide what to do?” she asks, her tone thoughtful.
“And when you saw your mate fighting, his life on the line, you realized you loved him. That’s when you accepted him, didn’t you?”
Becky’s cheeks flush slightly, and she laughs again, embarrassed. “Yes.”
Aurora’s eyes light up as she recalls something.
“And you fought in that battle too, didn’t you? I saw you.”
Becky straightens, her embarrassment giving way to pride. “Of course.”
Alpha Alex steps forward, his voice firm and authoritative.
“In this pack, we don’t discriminate. Male or female, anyone who’s trained as a fighter werewolf can take part in battle.”
Aurora nods, her expression filled with admiration and understanding.
