Creeping Dangers

A couple of days later,

Today is Sunday, and the café is closed. The tension in Moonbridge town is still lingering. However, Aurora came to the café today to do some cleaning. These days, very few people are stepping outside, only when necessary, since, of course, the cops have asked everyone to be cautious in town.

Thankfully, Edwin also came along today for Aurora’s protection.

The café was enveloped in a quiet stillness as Aurora moved through the familiar space, dusting shelves and straightening up tables.

And today Edwin insisted making her favorite iced coffee while she is working because she had denied his help. Aurora was lost in her work and admiring her now boyfriend when a loud crash from the café’s front entrance jolted her back to reality.

The front entrance rattled as if someone—or something—had struck it with force.

Aurora spun around, wide-eyed, searching for the source of the disturbance. Edwin's face had transformed in an instant.

"What was that?!" Aurora exclaimed.

Edwin’s expression hardened. "Stay here. I’ll check it out."

Before Aurora could voice her concerns, Edwin bolted toward the door. She hesitated for just a moment, her instincts urging her to stay back, but the rising tide of fear propelled her to follow. Each step felt heavier, laden with an overwhelming sense of dread as she peered through the café's glass entrance.

Outside, a shadowy figure shifted in the dim light, its movements fluid yet menacing. The creature was large.

The air was thick with tension, and a chill ran down her spine as she recognized the unmistakable shape of a rogue werewolf, its wild.

Edwin stepped out onto the pavement, his body taut with a mix of bravery and readiness. Aurora's heart raced as she observed him, standing his ground against the lurking threat. His eyes were sharp, focused, and determined, the weight of the situation etched into his features.

The werewolf growled low, a sound that reverberated through the air like thunder. Its eyes glowed with a feral light, reflecting an unsettling hunger and aggression. The creature seemed poised to attack, its powerful muscles coiling under its fur as it shifted, ready to pounce.

"Edwin, be careful!" Aurora shouted, her voice strained with worry, but deep down, she knew how futile her warning was against such a formidable opponent.

She felt utterly helpless, torn between the instinct to rush out to help him and the primal urge to stay safely inside.

Edwin turned to her briefly, his eyes serious.

"Stay inside and don't even think about coming here. I don’t want you getting hurt."

Aurora’s heart pounded as she hurriedly locked the door and watched through the window. The rogue werewolf lunged at Edwin, but he moved with a speed and agility that seemed almost supernatural. The two figures clashed, and Edwin’s strength was apparent as he fought off the rogue.

In the heat of the struggle, he was momentarily thrown back, and the rogue werewolf advanced towards aurora. Panic surged through her, and she fumbled with the café’s phone to call for help, but her trembling hands couldn’t dial the number.

Suddenly, Edward let out a fierce growl, and Aurora watched in stunned silence as his body began to shift. His form grew larger, his muscles bulging, and his features contorted into a fearsome snout and sharp claws. The once-human Edwin was now a powerful, majestic wolf.

The transformation was both terrifying and mesmerizing. Edward, in his full werewolf form, let out a bone-chilling howl and charged at the rogue. The rogue seemed momentarily taken aback, but it quickly resumed its attack.

Edward and the rogue clashed in a flurry of fur and claws. Aurora pressed her back against the door, her heart aching with worry for her boyfriend. She could hardly believe what she was seeing, but there was no mistaking the reality of the situation.

The fight was intense, but Edward’s strength and skill were evident. With a final, powerful swipe of his claws, he subdued the rogue. The rogue werewolf let out a pained howl before retreating into the woods, vanishing from sight.

Edward’s form gradually shifted back to his human state. He stood there, panting heavily, naked. He stumbled towards the café, his face pale and exhausted. He looked up at Aurora with a mixture of relief and concern.

"Aurora, are you alright?" Edward’s voice was rough but filled with urgency.

Aurora rushed to Edwin, her heart still pounding from the confrontation. As she reached him, relief flooded through her, mingling with the lingering shock.

"Edwin! I… I saw everything. It was scary—" she stammered, her voice trembling as she tried to make sense of the chaos.

Edwin, sensing her fear, leaned down to comfort her. His gaze softened, reassuring her even amidst the danger that still loomed.

But then, with a sudden urgency, he began to transform back into his wolf form.

His clothes had torn during the confrontation, leaving him unable to roam around naked. Additionally, being in his wolf form would help his injuries heal more quickly so he changed this quickly.

The wolf turned to face her, his blue eyes locking onto hers brown eyes with a profound intensity. In that moment, Aurora felt a silent communication pass between them, an understanding that transcended words.

She knew he had to leave now; there was no time to linger.

Aurora knew Edwin wanted her to keep an eye out, call for help, meaning she should alert the police to report the incident. The rest could be explained later; for now, it was crucial for him to go.

"Be careful!" she called out, her voice tinged with fear and determination.

Edwin offered one last glance, a lingering look that seemed to say he would return and that she should stay safe. And with that, he dashed off into the woods, leaving Aurora standing at the entrance of the café, her heart racing as she prepared to face the consequences of what had just unfolded.
