Tears and Truths

At around 8 PM, Aurora sat curled up on her bed, her face streaked with tears and her eyes red and swollen from hours of crying. Her chest heaved as she sobbed quietly, her body trembling with the weight of her emotions.

The door creaked open, and Edwin stepped in, his face a mixture of concern and relief.

His voice was soft but urgent as he called out to her, "Aurora!"

Aurora looked up at him, her expression hardening instantly.

"You!" she spat, her voice raw with pain.

Her face, once vibrant, now appeared pale and lifeless, her misery etched into every feature.

"Leave!" she shouted, standing abruptly from the bed.

Her legs wavered slightly from the strain, but her anger gave her strength. Her tear-filled eyes locked onto Edwin's, burning with both rage and deep sorrow.

Edwin, unshaken by her outburst, stepped closer and gently held her shoulders.

"What have you done to yourself?" he asked, his voice filled with anguish.

Aurora struggled against his grip, her tears flowing anew.

"Let me go... ahh!" she sobbed, pushing against him weakly.

"Calm down, baby. Please..." Edwin's voice was tender, pleading, as he tried to soothe her.

Aurora only cried louder, her chest tightening with every word.

"What are you doing here?! Why?!"

"You... you betrayed me!" she screamed.

"You cheated on me!"

Edwin shook his head firmly, his tone steady but desperate.

"No, baby. What you saw was a misunderstanding. I didn't betray you."

"Get away from me!" Aurora cried, her voice cracking.

"You betrayed me! You lied to me!"

"Please, Aurora, just listen to me!" Edwin begged, his hands still on her shoulders as she continued to sob.

Aurora, overwhelmed and exhausted, stopped struggling but continued to cry, her body sagging under the weight of her emotions.

Unable to bear her pain, Edwin pulled her into a firm embrace. Despite her initial resistance, she lacked the energy to fight him off. Instead, she remained stiff in his arms, her tears soaking his shirt.

Edwin stroked her back gently and began speaking, his voice low and sincere.

"I'm sorry, Aurora. I didn't think my actions would hurt you this much."

He paused, taking a deep breath before continuing.

"I wanted us to be together, always. I can't imagine a future without you. Leaving you is not even a possibility for me. But... you weren't ready for marriage."

Aurora stiffened slightly, listening despite herself.

"I thought of ways to make you agree," Edwin admitted.

"Some friends told me that jealousy could make someone realize their true feelings. They said that if you felt like you might lose me, you'd want to hold on tighter, that you'd agree to marry me."

Aurora pulled back slightly, her tear-streaked face staring at him in disbelief.

"So... all of that...?"
