The Aftermath
The atmosphere in the jungle was still electric, a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration hanging in the air. The moon cast its silvery light over the clearing, reflecting off the blood-streaked faces and torn clothes of the pack members.
Blood had been shed, and wounds marked their bodies, yet they all were overjoyed. The Ravenwood pack, which had been troubling them for so long, was finally defeated."We did it," the pack Beta declared, his voice ringing with triumph as he clapped Alex on the back. "You led us to victory, Alpha."
But Alex, ever humble, shook his head. His voice was steady and firm as he replied, "No. We all did it."
The pack stilled, hanging on his every word. "An Alpha might lead," Alex continued, his gaze sweeping over the group, "but a victory is only possible when brave werewolves like you stand behind him."
A collective howl rose in the air, a sound of triumph and unity that reverberated through the trees. Aurora watched in awe as the pack came together, their voices blending in perfect harmony.
Becky stepped forward, her gaze moving across her comrades. "We all fought bravely," she said, her voice soft yet powerful.
"I’m honored to have stood beside you all in this battle."
Then her eyes settled on Alex, and for a moment, the world seemed to still. There was something unspoken in her gaze—a tenderness that left no room for doubt. Slowly, she approached him, and Alex’s expression softened, his affection for her clear.
The pack noticed the shift and erupted into teasing howls and whistles.
"Ohh~~" and "Ah~" rang out, their playful sounds filling the clearing.
Even Edwin couldn’t help but smile. But Aurora was caught off guard. Her confusion deepened when Becky, emboldened by the moment, stepped closer to Alex. With a quiet confidence, she closed the gap and kissed him.
The pack erupted into cheers, their excitement filling the clearing.
Aurora’s eyes widened, her gaze darting to Edwin for answers. He met her questioning look with calm clarity.
"She is our Luna," he said simply, as though that explained everything.
Aurora still didn’t fully understand but chose not to ask further.
The battle was over, but the aftermath brought its own set of challenges for the werewolves. The enemies from the Ravenwood pack, who had fallen in the jungle, needed to be dealt with. Their bodies had to be cleared away, and explanations had to be given to the global werewolf community—justifying why such a deadly conflict had taken place, the reasons behind it, and the necessity of their actions.
The pack members dispersed, each with a role to play. The Alpha and his advisors planned their next moves, preparing to address the global werewolf community. Questions would need answers: why the Ravenwood pack was attacked, what led to such a lethal confrontation, and whether the actions taken were justified. The weight of diplomacy now rested on Alex’s shoulders.
Elsewhere, the injured werewolves were ushered into makeshift healing areas, their wounds tended with care. Those less injured prepared for patrol, heading into town to assess the aftermath, check for damages, and ensure no lingering threats remained.
Aurora, meanwhile, accompanied Edwin to his home after helping apply first aid to the wounded at the pack house.
At Edwin's house,
Edwin, in his massive wolf form, lay stretched across the bed. His fur, thick and silken, bore traces of battle—faint cuts that gleamed in the light. His wolf head rested lazily on Aurora's lap. The reason he was in this form was simple—injuries healed faster when he was a wolf.
