Cicely's POV
Sitting in a strange tub, in a strange house, with strange men who aren't technically men.

And yet, allowing my head to be held by someone who has yet to gain my trust, feels so safe. It's the one thing I've never truly felt. To understand that there is no danger, no rush, and no expectations.

On my own I wouldn't have allowed it, but if it takes an incubus to make me feel like this then I no longer have to pretend that I'm better off alone.

His violet hair encapsulates his entire being. Its softness and warmth has been shining through since I met him. And I couldn't allow myself to accept it. Accept that all it took to heal my deflated heart was a slight touch from him.

My questions are still unanswered but my heart tells me that I don't need any.

My hand stirs in the coconut scented water dissolving bubbles in its path. I splash Alteno with a bit of water, and like he was in a trance of his own, he blinks. He shakes his hand away from my face and moves to stand up.

"Oh I think Nicky needs me downstairs. You can finish by yourself, right. You being an independent woman and all."

The door clicks shut when he walks out.

That's it? The "incubus" whose whole purpose is to feed on human arousal just gave a pat to my face and left. I didn't expect him to force me or anything but with all this talk of needing to feed on me he's only asked once.

There has to be something going on that I don't know about.

A soft knock announces someone at the door. Probably Alteno again.

"Come in," I yell over my sounds of moving water so that I don't seem like I'm just sitting here.

To my surprise or disappointment, Nicky walks in with clothes for me.

When I see his face, I pull back the shower curtain so only my head is visible.

Nicky chuckles at my haste, "Relax. I just bought you some clothes for when you get out."

"How smart of you? Where are the dry bath towels?"

Nicky snaps his fingers and points to a shelf above my head on the wall.

I turn my face away from embarrassment. The towels were literally right there and I didn't notice.

"Seems like we can't all be smart around here."

Nicky smirks and prepares himself to open the door to leave but I stop him.

"Wait," I ask him.

"Hmm. Something on your mind, Sissy."

My face turns sour when he uses my nickname. "That's only for my friends to use."

"Well if I recall, I'd say that we're getting pretty acquainted. A scene comes to mind where said "non friend" had a big development on my 300 dollar pants suit," he mocks with one foot out of the door.

I shrug my shoulders, "Whatever. Will you at least answer my questions?"

"I will to the best of my ability but some questions are not for me to answer."

I roll my eyes and sigh, "What kind of answer is that."

Nicky pulls out his full smile of perfect teeth. "The one that allows me to get any sleep around here. Ask your questions, Cicely."

The act of him respecting my boundaries aren't lost on me but I'm sure it's not important. I can just heal here and leave later.
"Can't someone else feed, Alteno."
