The Tale of Kyo Uchiha

chapter 41- a pick me up

A lot of time has gone by since the massacre. About 3 years to be exact. Sasuke was 11 and getting ready to graduate from the academy within a year at the top of his class. Kyo was 10 and was just promoted to jonin.

Her skills as a ninja have doubled and she's become well known throughout the village. She became a master at shisui's jutsu and nearly surpassed him in it. Kakashi had successfully taught her the chidori and because of that the two of them, as a unit, were given the name The Lightning Siblings. Kyo was maintaining her training with tenzo and has mastered her wood style. She also started to train a bit with the Hokage and learned various jutsu's using the 5 chakra natures.

Shortly after the massacre, when she felt ready, she went to the Hokage and told him and him alone about her eyes. He was stunned to say the least but told her that he greatly appreciated her telling him and took it as a sign of trust from her.

He told her that he has a lot of books and scrolls on her eyes and that when she felt ready to train them she could come and collect them from him.

Soon after that conversation kyo had made her way to his office and asked for those materials. She was given a few books on the rinnegan and its supposed abilities and the Hokage was able to find a different book from the Uchiha clan archives that she found to be incredibly useful. It was a book filled with pictures of mangekyo sharingan users and their eyes. Although there was only her father, shisui, and Itachi in it, the book still allowed kyo to copy shisui's sharingan now too. She has yet to use his kotoamatsukami but she is satisfied with the fact that she now has the ability to.

After that fateful night, both kyo and sasuke were changed individuals. They both became somewhat darker. Kyo not as much as sasuke but darker nonetheless. Sasuke was no longer the big brother that kyo once knew, instead he was more blunt and not nearly as fun as he used to be in kyo's opinion. He only calls her by her name and asked kyo that she only call him sasuke.

Kyo had stopped with nicknames all together; she only called sasuke and kakashi by their names. She would call her uncles and auntie by uncle and auntie and she would call the 3rd grandpa but that was it. She wasn't as happy as she used to be either. It was like some of the life had left her eyes with her clan that night.

Kakashi was always there for both of them but sasuke rejected him every time. His only bonds were with kyo and Itachi. That was it. His only goal was to get stronger and avenge his clan. Kyo on the other hand, was more open to the help she was offered. Slowly but surely, the old kyo was making her way back. She was slowly starting to smile more and laugh more and was open to being social with others.

Kakashi spent a lot of time with kyo and the two of them became closer than ever. She had started spending more time with her friends. Mainly Shikamaru, Sakura, and Naruto.

Shikamaru's parents were there for kyo and offered to be there for sasuke but of course he refused. Yoshino, shikamaru's mom would sometimes send shikamaru to the academy with 2 lunches, one for him and the other for sasuke. She would also bring food to kyo as well and taught her how to cook herself so that if she wanted she could make food for sasuke and herself. Shikaku was there for the two of them as well. He would make sure sasuke got home from the academy from a distance and would spend time with kyo when he could. He taught her this game called shoji and she was really great at it and they would play together often.

Naruto was always looking for kyo. He loved spending time with her and when he heard what happened to her family he immediately went to find her and make sure she was alright. The two of them were inseparable. Always eating at ichiraku's together and training together when they could. The two of them cherished each other. Kyo was really grateful to naruto and for the friendship they shared. Naruto had started to become infatuated with kyo. He always wanted to be with her and loved everything about her. Shikaku of course was able to pick up on this behavior when he saw the two of them out together once. Kyo felt she was too young for that sort of thing so she didn't think about it much. But she would sometimes catch herself looking longer than she should at naruto's blue eyes and would think about how pretty she thought they were but would snap out of it and push it aside.
