chapter 48- the assassin of the mist !

Team 7 and tazuna had to continue their journey to the land of waves by water which meant they needed to go by boat. They all piled into a small row boat but there wasnt enough room for tazuna and all of team 7. Kyo was the last in line to get on the boat so she was left without a seat.

She looked over at sasuke and before she could even get the words out sasuke said, "absolutely not kyo"

Kyo rolled her eyes and then looked at kakashi with puppy dog eyes.

"Kashiiii"

Kakashi rolled his eyes and then pat his lap for kyo to sit for the boat ride. Kyo smiled and sat in kakashi's lap carefully.

"Not a word of this. Ever." said kakashi.

"Wow kashi you're so loving." said kyo sarcastically.

"If it were up to sasuke you'd be swimming after us so be grateful and drop the attitude little one." said kakashi.

Kyo looked over at sasuke and he nodded as if agreeing with what kakashi was saying.

"Yeah okay i'll shut up now." said kyo.

As the boat ride continued, Naruto, who was sitting in front, looked over at the sitting situation and turned back around with an upset look on his face. Sakura noticed this and was about to make a snarky comment about naruto's jealousy until she was interrupted by naruto himself.

"Woah, it's huge!" he practically yelled.

"Quiet! Why do you think we're traveling like this? No engine and rowing in the fog. We don't want to be seen." said the boat driver.

Kakashi then turned his head towards tazuna.

"Mr.tazuna before we reach the pier I need to ask you some things." he said.

Kyo, still in kakashi's lap, crosses her arms and says, "Yeah geezer it's time to start talking.".

"Then men who are after you. We need to know why." said kakashi.

Everyone on the boat turned their attention to tazuna waiting for him to speak.

"I guess I have no choice, but I want you to know, the one who seeks my life is a very short man who casts a long deadly shadow. I'm sure you've heard his name, he's one of the wealthiest men in the world. The shipping magnet Gato." said Tazuna.

"Who?" said kyo.

Kakashi had a look of familiarity on his face at the mention of the name.

"Gato's a business leader everyone knows him."

Kyo looked at her teammates and shrugged. "Not me."

Tazuna looked down and continued. "Below his booming business theres a darker side. In the same ruthless way he does business he sells drugs and contrabands using gangs and ninja.".

Tazuna then began to explain how he used his savage methods of taking over the land of waves around a year ago.

"In an island nation, the man who controls the sea controls everything." he said.

Kyo then nods in realization. "Ohhhhh that makes sense I get why he's after you now."

"Care to share it with us?" said sasuke sarcastically.

"It's the bridge, once its finished they'll be connected to land and Gato would lose his power over them." says kyo.

"That right squirt." said tazuna. Kyo then shot him a look at the nickname.

"Since you're the bridge builder, you're standing in this gangsters way." said sakura.

"That means the guys we fought in the forest were working for gato." added sasuke.
