chapter 12 - kyo's birthday pt.8 the festival

Kyo POV

         After leaving with Sasu, we had to head back home so I could put my festival clothes on. Which took forever by the way. But mommy said I looked pretty so I guess it's okay. "Hurry up Kiki! I'm bored and everyone is probably waiting for you." Said Sasu. "Alright I'm coming Sasu!" I replied. Then I left my room and headed downstairs to meet Sasu so we could head out. "Wow you look really pretty Kiki! No wonder it took you so long." He said. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment as I said "Thanks Sasu. You look nice too. I bet all the girls are going to be all over you.". "Ew gross! I'm only 5 I don't care about girls all I want is to become a strong ninja and protect my family. That's it. Girls are gross.". I started laughing and Mommy started to giggle a little before she said "Alright you two it's time to head out to the festival. Are you both ready to go?". We both responded with a "Yes" and then we set off.

         When we got to the festival Sasu and I separated from mommy in search of our friends. "Do you know where they all are Sasu?" I asked. "Yeah, they said the other day to meet at the ramen shop so they could see you". He responded. "Which one? Ichiraku?" I asked. "Duh. What other place. We all know that's your favorite." Said Sasu. My mouth started watering at the mention of Ichiraku ramen. I have a lot of fond memories there. Sometimes I would go there with one of my brothers. Other times Grandpa Saru takes me there when he isn't busy being hokage. A lot of the time I go there with my friends though. The last time I went was with Naruto the other day and I found out that Ichiraku was his favorite place too! I think our friendship is growing quite nicely considering he is my newest friend and we've only known each other for a week.

         I was broken out of my thoughts when I was pulled into a hug by none other than my bestest friend. Shikamaru Nara.

         "Happy birthday Kyo! What took you so long? Everyone was asking about you it was such a drag. Did you finally learn more about your brother?" he asked. I immediately hugged him back and said "Thanks Shika! Sorry I took so long but Yeah I finally learned more about my brother and let me tell you he was awesome just like the rest of them.".

        Shika and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. He was the first friend I ever made besides my brothers. We met when I was walking on a hill and I tripped over him while he was watching clouds. I asked what he was doing, and he told me. Then we introduced ourselves and I asked him to be my friend. He said sure and as long as I wasn't too troublesome, and the rest is history. "I'm glad to hear it. Now I won't have to listen to you complain about it anymore. It was so troublesome just like all you women." Said Shika. "Hey! It wasn't that bad, and I am NOT troublesome or a drag. Is that anyway to talk to your best friend on her birthday Shika?" I responded kind of sarcastically. Shika just sighed and said "I guess you're not that troublesome or much of a drag. C'mon everyone is waiting so we can give you our present.". I just nodded my head and laughed while Shika lead Sasu and I inside the ramen shop where the rest of our friends were waiting.

       I took a look around and I saw that all my friends are here. Even Naruto! I don't know why but I was extra happy to see him here. He flashed me a big smile and came over and gave be a big hug. "Happy Birthday Kyo!" he said. I hugged him just as tight and said "Thanks Naruto! It means a lot to me that you are here celebrating with me." I didn't notice the pink tint that came across his face. He released me and started rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly and said "W-well I uh couldn't let down my first friend".

          I laughed and was about to tell him he didn't when I was interrupted by a loud "KYO COME HERE AND SAY HI TO THE REST OF US." "Will you stop yelling so much kiba? It's so annoying". Well, there's kiba and sakura. "You're so annoying billboard brow!". And there's Ino. "Ugh what a drag". Typical Shika always complaining. "Hey Shikamaru, can we get some snacks after we give Kyo her present?". Oh choji, always thinking about food. "G-g-guys let's not f-f-fight". Poor hinata always trying to keep the peace. "Don't concern yourself with squabbles like that lady hinata. It's beneath you." I sighed. Oh, neji you really have to soften up. "Nonsense Neji let us allow them to express their youthful opinions!" Found Lee. Ecstatic as always. "Will you please calm down lee" How ten ten still has her sanity is beyond me. I saw shino just standing there observing the whole thing. Him and Sasu are alike in that aspect. I decided it was enough and said "Okay okay guys relax" with a laugh.
