3rd POV

Today was the day Kyo was to start her ninja journey with training. Its only a few months until her 5th birthday and her entrance into the academy so her father deemed it best to get a head start. Since kyo had a very large amount of chakra in her body her father figured it wouldn't be difficult for her to master jutsu but he decided to start her lessons on how chakra works and how to use it to make jutsu as well as some uchiha family history. Well mainly some uchiha family history and the importance of their clan.

Fugaku had summoned Kyo into his office which would also serve as her lesson room. Itachi had found a table and chair that Kyo could use as a desk and her mother had supplied her with some notebooks and pencil. Now kyo is 4 years old but she isn't dumb she knows how to read and write and is actually eager to start learning.

Sasuke had heard from his parents that his sister was starting her lessons from their father today and Sasuke had practically begged to join in learning about the uchiha history even though he has already started at the academy. Fugaku was pleased by his son's enthusiasm to learn about their family so he allowed for him to join their lesson.

Fugaku being as strict as he is decided that her lesson would begin first thing in the morning so sasuke woke up bright and early and woke up his sister for their lesson.

"Kiki wake up" he whispered. Sasuke lightly shook his sister to wake her up. Kyo slowly opened her eyes and mumbled "huh wha- sasu-nii 5 more minutes".

Sasuke smiled at his sister and said "But kiki we're starting our lessons with father today and its almost time to start so you have to get dressed."

Kyo sighed and nodded then smiled at her brother and got out of bed.

"The lesson is only down the hall sasu-nii. Why do we have to get dressed? It's just us and papa." asked Kyo

"You don't know because you're still a little kid but father is very strict and I have a feeling he's going to be strict on us today so you should get dressed."

"Okay fine if you say so."

After kyo and sasuke were dressed and ready they went downstairs to get some breakfast. They found their mother downstairs cooking their favorite. Eggs with tomato and rice.

Soon after their father came downstairs with his usual stern look on his face. Kyo expected to see it drop into a smile like it did most of the time she saw her father but it didn't. In fact when he saw his children eating kyo could have sworn his face got darker.

Sasuke looked down and focused on eating his breakfast while kyo brushed off her fathers stern look and greeted him as she usually does. She got up and ran over to her father and gave him a hug and said "Good Morning Papa!" with a bright smile.

Fugaku looked down at his daughter hugging him and said "Good Morning Kyo. Now that you are beginning your path to being a ninja I think it's time that you started to take it more seriously and grow up a bit.". Then he gently unraveled her hands and told her to sit down and eat.

Kyo looked at her father with hurt in her eyes. He had never turned her away like that before. She looked over to her mother and saw a look of sympathy on her face as she served her husband some food. She then tried her best not to cry as she sat back down next to sasuke and began to eat her food.

Sasuke could tell that kyo was really hurt by their fathers actions and he felt bad for her. When she sat back down next to him he reached out and gave her hand a squeeze and flashed her a small smile. Kyo squeezed his hand back and gave her brother a small smile in return. They then ate their breakfast in silence.

After that they headed over to their fathers office and started their lesson.

Fugaku's demeanor didn't change throughout the entire lesson and in fact he became even stricter.
He really came down hard on his youngest children when it came to uchiha family history. He would lecture about the sharingan and the history of its development as well as the history of the Uchiha and Senju clans. Every once and awhile he would ask both children a question and if they got it wrong he would snap a ruler on their knuckles.

It was now an hour or two after their first lesson and Sasuke was helping Kyo bandage her hands. He was doing his best to be gentle as to not hurt kyo but because of her time with Orochimaru her pain tolerance has built up a lot.

The first couple times the ruler was snapped on her hands she cried out in pain which just led to a harsh stare from her father and he would say things like "As an Uchiha and ninja of this village you must learn not to show pain or emotions.". Sasuke's hands weren't as bad as Kyo's were so he was helping her with her bandages.

"Does it hurt Kiki?" asked Sasuke.

"No its not too bad sasu" responded Kyo.

Sasuke could notice the sad look on his sisters face and felt bad that she had to endure more pain especially from their father after what had happened to Kyo a few months ago.

Kyo was sad but it wasn't because of the physical pain coming from her hands they really didn't hurt that bad. She was upset because of the change in attitude towards her from her father. She really loved her father and she still did but the way he treated her today made her very upset. Its caused her to look at him different and they may be what he wanted.

"Sasu?"

"Yeah Kiki?"

"Why was father being so harsh on us? It was only the first day. Is he gonna be like this all the time?"
Sasuke sighed and looked into kyo's eyes and saw the sad look on her face and felt bad that he had to tell her "Yeah Kiki I think he's gonna be this way from now on at least during our lessons. Now that you're starting to get ready to be a ninja father's expectations of you have changed. I think it's because he's seen how much you can do already that he expects a lot from you. He started treating me this way when I started at the academy. He just wants us to do well and make him proud. I think.".

Kyo pouted and looked to the side and said "Well he doesn't have to be so mean and scary about it."

Sasuke smiled at his sister and then said "At least we're doing it together so you're not alone."

Kyo looked at her brother with a slight smile and said "yeah at least we're together."

The rest of the night Kyo spent reading the books her father had on their family history and their eyes as well as family jutsu. She didn't like the way her father was treating her but she was sure that she wasn't going to let him down.

Tomorrow she would be meeting her trainer to help her with her wood style and she was excited about it but also very nervous. Especially if her trainer would be anything like her father.

After a few hours of reading and practicing her sharingan kyo decided it was time for bed because she wanted to get a good nights sleep for the day ahead.
