51. Mother's pain

Tae's Mom POV

A mother knows when one or all of her kids are suffering or in pain. Although Tae is the youngest or rather my last born, he's the happiness preacher in the family.

Something is wrong with my son,his whole aura screamed out to me that he's hurt or in pain. He tried so hard to conceal it,and though he couldn't speak up last night,his eyes told me. His body told me. I don't know what's wrong, but my baby cried softly,silently.

You see, Taehyung is not the type who wants to burden anyone with how he feels. He suffers in silence.  He's always been like that way even when he was just a little boy. For him to come back home to me,no luggage, oh someone hurt my baby.

The only time Tae allowed us to see him in pain,and I mean excruciating pain, was at his father's funeral as expected, right. They did everything together.He put his father's hair through so much, and every other day, my husband had a different haircut and color, and he never once complained

I made soft potato porridge for him and went to wake him up.

Mom:" Tae,baby, wake up and eat something

Tae;" Okay ,I will just wash my face.

Mom:" Okay

I went out and made some herbal tea as well. His voice sounded so nasally. He must've caught the flu. I need to prepare medicine for him as well.

He came out wearing his big hoodie,as if that could ever hide the weight he lost

Tae:" Good morning, mom.

Mom:" Morning honey. How did you sleep?

Tae:" I slept well,wait, mom, did you make potato porridge

Mom:" Yes baby,and after you're done eating that,I will give you medicine . Eat

I sat down opposite him and looked at my child,taking in his appearance.  With every spoon that enters his mouth, his eyes get glossy, and his chin starts to shake. It's clear that he's on the brink of breaking down.

Tae:" ( Shaky voice) I am okay

Mom:: I know you are,if you weren't okay,you would've gone some place else.

He kept eating even when his tears continued to fall.

Mom:" Baby, talk to me

He puts the spoon down and wipes his eyes with the hoodies arms.

Mom:" Is it about Jungkook

I nod his head yes and look down,avoiding eye contact.

Tae:" You're going to be so disappointed in me, and I understand.   I have been struggling with it alone for a while now,not because I didn't want to tell you but because I thought Jungkook should be the one to know about it before anyone, and what a disappointment that turn out to be

Mom:" Tell me, what is it?

Tae:" I am sorry ,okay,I really am.

Whatever it is ,it's obviously something not light. What can it be?

Tae:" (crying louder) I am pregnant, and I know what you're going to say,that I shou -

I stood up and went over to him,hugging him tightly and kissing his head. I then held his hand and moved us to the living room, where we sat on the couch facing each other,caressing his face

Mom:" (happy tears) Taehyungie, listen to me,hear me loud and clear ,there is nothing ,absolutely nothing that you could ever do that will ever disappoint me. A child is a blessing. How could you ever think otherwise? Oh my love,this is what your father has been hinting at.
