I awoke to the sound of women speaking to one another above me. My eyes felt so heavy and irritated with a burning sensation. I went to run my eyes but could barely feel my arms. My whole body felt entirely numb. One of the ladies gasped at my slight movement and yelled something. I could only make out a few words.

"He's.....Send....Doctor!"

What did she mean doctor? Where was I and what happened?

My eyes finally flickered open but everything was so blurry that all objects looked like blobs. I could see movement of darker shapes. My ears suddenly unclogged and a loud ringing echoed throughout my head. It wasn't long before a bright light attacked my vision.
"Can you hear me?"

I went to speak but my throat and mouth were so dry that nothing came out. I nodded instead hoping they could see it.

"Good. My name is Doctor Clyde. You are at the Memorial Hospital. Do you know how you got here?"

I shook my head at his question. My vision cleared slightly enough for me to make out his face. The look of concern crept in the room. The doctor had a four o'clock shadow and the most prominent dark bags under his eyes. His crystal blue eyes were almost mesmerizing.

"You got into a car accident."

I started to panic as I looked down and saw a cast on my arm. I could make out scratches and bruises appearing over my legs and other arm.

"Don't worry you only got a broken arm and minor injuries. We thought you'd stay in a coma for a while. You've been out for about four days.*

Oh my God...

Tears ran down my face, burning the scratches along my cheek. The nurses came to my side and gave me a glass of water. I sipped through the straw before speaking.
"Has..anyone..came to see me?"

"One boy has. I don't remember his name though but he was quite handsome. "

I laid back in the uncomfortable hospital bed. Pain finally started to radiate through my limbs. I waited till everyone left so I could rest before sitting back up, staring out the window. Rain was pouring and hitting the window just right to create a comforting sound. I scanned the room and noticed that there were flowers next to me on a table with a card. I opened the white envelope and read the sweet words of the hospital's staff.

It wasn't long before I was interrupted from a knock on the door.

I look towards the door and Micah walks in with flowers and a brown teddy bear in his arms.

"Hey."

"Hi."

You could tell from his face that he was slightly uncomfortable being around me and it only made me feel one hundred times worse.

"I..I'm sorry for your accident."

"Why are you sorry?" Honestly it was my fault for getting hurt.

"Because I upset you which led to reckless driving. We should've met up and talked things out like normal partners."

"Micah It's my fault for causing my own injuries. I deserved what happened."

"Nobody deserves to be in an accident regardless of the cause of it."

I shifted in the bed to sit up better as Micah sat in the chair beside me. He sat the teddy bear on the table. "You don't have to be here if you don't want to."

"I want to be because I sadly still care about you."

A hit to the heart. I'm shot and dead.

"Oh. Is it okay if maybe I get some rest?"

"Yeah. My bad, I'll stop by again soon."

I nodded and turned to face the window as tears stained my face. Minutes turned to hours as nurses came to check on my vitals and my bandages. I struggled to keep dry eyes.

Night fell upon us as the moonlight shined through the window. You could hear the wind's faint whispers as it hit the glass. My night nurse arrived, the smell of sweet pea filling the air as she came to the side of the bed. "How are you doing dear?"

"I could be better."

She giggled at my response but knew I was serious. She checked my vitals and carefully injected a drug into my arm through the IV insert. Soon enough the dull pain I felt in my arm passed and I was a bit more comfortable.

"Do you need a drink or anything?"

"I could really go for some chocolate?"
I responded.
"I can bring you some pudding."
I smiled and nodded to her. She finished up and left the room, turning off a couple lights. The room was normally very bright and it blinded my eyes. I was thankful for her to do that.

After a few minutes she returned and handed my my pudding with a plastic white spoon. I opened the pudding and the first taste was heavenly. I think I had a mouth orgasm. Soon enough it was gone and the medicine caused my body to relax until I fell asleep.

*Knock knock*

My eyes peaked open as someone entered the room. I hadn't fully looked until the voice immediately shot me straight up.

"Mom?"

"Oh my God baby!! Are you okay?!"

She rushed to me with her heels clicking the tile floor. Her arms around my body causing a groan to escape my mouth. She hit a bad spot on my arm and it shot a painful sting throughout it. "Sorry baby."

"What are you doing here mom?"

"I got a call and immediately left to come to you. Your father and I were attending a meeting eighteen hours away. Once I heard about the accident I left and got a plane ticket. I'm so sorry baby. I should've been here for you. When I heard of the accident I...I.." She broke down in tears as the upper half of her leaned on my bed.

"I'm okay mom."
I placed a hand on her arm and for some strange feeling it felt like touching a stranger.

"Baby come home."

"What?" What was home? The place I lived for sixteen years. The same place that broke me for baring my emotions and explaining my interests. I wouldn't dare step foot in that hell hole again. Not anymore.

"Please baby? I can talk to your father and I promise things will be different."

"Mom we both know it won't. Dad hates me and you won't leave him for me."

"I can...I can leave him."

"Mom you can't afford to leave him. I'll be fine on my own like I have been for a while. I actually have a place to live at."

"With a boy?"

I could sense the displeased tone in her voice as she spoke.

"Yeah."

She huffed and fixed her outfit before storming out of the room without another word. Deep down a piece of my soul left with her. It stung in my eyes watching her leave me yet again.

"Goodbye mom.."
