The kiss felt like I was floating in the clouds. But it was wrong. I pushed Micah off me and backed away. "It's best we just stay friends Micah."

"Luca, trust me on this. You love us both right?"

"Well yeah but that's not normal for a person to have two partners."

"Yes it is. You just never got to learn about anything because of your family and having to hide your sexuality."

"I have to go back to work Micah. I'll text you later about what happens. Okay?"

Micah nodded and stood up, leaving a piece of paper on the table for me. It was his new phone number. I slid the paper into my pants pocket and went back to work. The remainder of the day went smoothly and I managed to not lose my fucking mind. I gathered my bag and said goodbye to Angie before heading off to the store to gather a few items I needed for myself. As I left the store, Malachi's silver mustang was sitting in the parking lot across the street from the coffee shop. I noticed the tag that he had on the side and walked over. I had remembered he was there for a coffee meet up with some girl. Still didn't like the thought of it but I already was a massive douchebag for cheating to begin with. I can't sink any lower. I snuck carefully up to his car and tried to open it but it was locked. "Great. Maybe I can find them inside." I strolled up to the doors and opened them to hear a soft jingle to alert the workers that they had customers. I took a seat in the far back and scanned the room. Thankfully Malachi was sitting at the tables in the middle with an older girl who looked like she could be his mother. There was no way this was the same girl from the bowling alley. Malachi seemed to be laughing and drinking his, Im assuming just regular black coffee with cold foam.

Waiting made me hungry as my stomach growled in protest. I held my hand up for a waitress who stopped by. "Yes sir? Ready to order?"

"Yes please. An iced mocha and a cheese croissant please ."

"Of course, be right up." The lady left and I went back to observing Malachi like a creepy stalker. When my food and drink arrived, I happened to fall out of my seat causing a huge mess. With my drink splattering all over me and the floor. The waitress helped clean me off but everyone was staring at us...including Malachi. He stood up and approached me. "What are you doing here?!"

"I came by after work. I didn't know you'd be here."

"Don't lie to me!" Malachi screamed in my face. Everyone around was watching intently and gasped at the sudden outburst. One of the workers ushered us outside where Malachi yanked my arm and pulled us to the side. "What the fuck Luca? I thought you trusted me and now you are stalking me?"

"I didn't mean to..I just was curious and hungry honestly." I didn't like him being aggressive to me one bit and frankly it hurt.

"Fuck Luca. I..maybe you were right all along. I'm serious this time. We should be friends and that's it. Sex is great but not worth the problems that come with it. You can stay at the house still since you don't have anywhere to go to but that's it."

Malachi pushed past me and went back inside. He left me standing, staring at the trees with salty tears streaming down my face.

I wiped the tears off my face and managed to walk myself to the house where I gathered my belongings and shoved them into a giant duffle bag. I left a note on the counter in the kitchen before heading off. I texted Miles, hoping he would answer.

Miles 5:00pm
"Hey Luca. Of course you can stay at my place. My parents love you so it's kinda like having a brother....but are you okay?"

I waited to response until I got there. I knocked on the door and an excited Miles answered, pulling me into a hug.

"I'm sorry for being a shitty friend Luca. But man you got yourself stuck in a damn awful situation."

"I need to tell you everything. Mind if we talk alone?"

Miles waved me inside and we went to his bedroom where I gently tossed the bag down and ran my hands through my sweaty hair. I managed to tell my story to Miles who never once spoke over me or yelled. He simply nodded or shook his head.

Once I was finished, I turned to him and he gave me a warm smile.

"I'm sorry Luca. Maybe it's best to stay away from guys for a while. Not like me but ones you like like."

"I think I already messed up the best relationship I had. You think if I talk to him we could restore our relationship?"

"Doesn't hurt to try?"
