Chapter 041
Logan's point of view
I waited and waited for her to show up, but she never did. And when I searched for her telepathically to know why she didn't come back or what held her there, I found Myra in the Alpha King's arms happy and all smiley with him.
My heart sank and shattered at the sight of her happiness, I nearly gave up on her and accept that she wasn't for me and I should let her be with whoever she chooses.
Not like she'd ever choose me even if the Alpha King wasn't in the picture, I just had hope for redemption and perhaps a later chance.
I won't deny it, I've done a lot of bad things to her that I'm not proud of, things I did and like to blame on my parents' animosity towards her. Things I don't even know why I did to her.
She was my mate, I knew she was my mate, yet I treated her way worse than I should have. I was suppose to protect and love her, but for some reason I've done the exact opposite and then blame it on my father's ill will or my mother's resentment for her.
It's easy to keep a strong facade of hatred when it's about the one you love, I could have hated her in public and love her in private, instead I hated her both in public and private. And then when I'm left with my solitude, I think about my future with her and how I'm going to make it all right.
I spent my own night in sadness, what I saw almost made me give up but what truly doesn't kill you does make you stronger.
I woke up with a stronger determination than yesterday or before, I need to figure out the Alpha King's plan and forge a counter plan.
He's more powerful and stronger than I thought, far above me in power because I couldn't do shit on him with my attack. He could resist my enslavement tactic, and still wear off my psychic attacks.
The saying about him being the strongest man in the world wasn't false in any way. But no man on earth is beyond a weakness, I just have to figure out his tick. I know a thing exist that when used against him could bring him to his knees.
For someone like him, I'm sure silver or wolfsbane has no effect on him like it does on me and every other werewolves. There must be something else, and I'm also going to find that out.
The moon goddess paired me with Myra for a reason, even after I rejected her, she still marked us as fated. If the mark on both our necks was not her handiwork, then what explains how we're marked against our knowledge?
A knock tapped on my door and interrupted my thoughts. Who is that? Who could possibly be knocking late this morning.
I've had my breakfast already and was just on the couch mapping my intent for the day.
I stood up reluctantly when the knock tapped twice again, I strode over and opened the door. I looked at the strange male's face, he looked familiar. Oh yes, I recognize him from yesterday, he was one of the guards who came to fight me.
"I don't know what I'm doing here or why I am about to tell you this, but ever since I learnt about this information I've been struggling with this need to let you know-"
"Just get on with it," I cut him off his whining. Glad to see my powers were more efficient than I thought or expected.
"His Majesty has considered the alliance with the Lycan people, but first he's given them a task. He instructed them to hunt you down and kill you, and also wipe your pack, Crystal Moon Pack. He said he'd do it himself, but his hands are full," he poured out to me.
"Do you know which of the Lycans were given this task?"
"Yeah, heard from the beta himself that it was the RedHood pack. They're to sniff you out and end you in the next forty eight hours, then go after your pack next," he answered.
"Thanks, now you'll forget we had this conversation or that you were ever here," I told him as I slammed my door in his face.
Shit!
Fuck!!!!!!!!
I have to save my pack and survive the Lycans hunt for me. The Lycans are aggressive hunters, they're known for their agile brutality and ferocity.
They're similar to us werewolves, was even stronger until we found a loophole to stay superior.
Unlike us, they weren't powered by the moon, they're cursed by the moon. Lycans are narrated to be an error in the Moon Goddess' creation.
Lycans once rallied around to take over the supernatural world, but my father told me how it was mainly the werewolves who fought them and sent them into scatters. It was history that happened a very long time ago, my father wasn't even alive then, he told me it was a tale passed down from generations to generations.
Full moon is at bay already so that gives the werewolves an edge over the Lycans, I just have to send a word across to my father.
This is one of the days I regret not living in the modern age as it is. A mobile phone would have saved me the stress of worrying over how to pass a message to my father if I can just call him, but I hated the device and never got one for myself.
I could try reaching out telepathically, but we're really far from each other. I don't think I'm strong enough to handle a long range telepath communication- unless I give it a try though.
There's that. Now how do I deal with the Lycans planted on my tail, sooner or later they're find me out and come for me. I have to be prepared.
But for now, I have a Lucas situation to deal with. Lucas, that's not even his name. His name is Lucius, a better fit for his monstrosity.
I have to figure out his plans for my mate. It's high time I take a tour of this palace.
I grabbed my jacket and tossed it on as I exited my room. I live around the palace but not inside the palace, I have to walk few meters before I get there. It's a huge compound.
My apartment, at the guest house wasn't that far from the maid's quarters however. I'm close to them.
I was focused on my destination I didn't realize I was walking into a passing figure, and soon we bumped into each other.
"Ouch." She winced and shot me a glare, she held her shoulder in pain.
"I'm sorry," I stretched out my hand to touch the spot I'd hit with my body.
My system jolted like a subject struck with the strongest of all bolts, my eyes popped wide and images popped into my head and flashed across my very eyes.
I gasped as more images poured in.
She. She's connected with the Alpha King. She's connected with Myra. She murdered a stranger. She's an omega hybrid.
She slapped my hand off before I could pin down more informations and broke the connection.
"Who are you?" Her eyes glowed crimson red, fury evident in her face.
"Lisa," I called the name I heard from the images that played out when I touched her.
She growled and slammed a punch into my gut, same time as she grabbed my neck and forced me to look her in the eyes. "I'm not gonna ask again, who the fuck are you?"
She's strong. I'll give her that.
