Chapter 059
Logan's point of view
"If I'm going to stare at your face all day I'd need a blindfold please, or just take me out as usual...."
I frowned at her casual interruptions, I'd really do the latter if it wasn't for the trials I needed her to experience, and that cannot be done with her unconscious.
So far I've derived from the numerous attempts to override the mental blockage that keeps me from jacking the will of her mind. It's a mental blockage that cannot be override or destroy.
It's still a thing I'm observing, and I should figure out a way to deal with it when I'm done.
This mental blockage is usually triggered when I offered a connection to take over her mind, this blockage automatically triggers and rejects my connection. To me I think it perceives it to be dangerous or a menace to its safety.
Now I'm going to try and paint my liaison with a different aura, a peaceful aura so when next I go in for connection, the mental guard would register a safe invitation. If I could lift the blockage off, and got the access into the strongest base of her mind like I aimed for, I can destroy the blockage for good.
I was seated on the floor in front of her with my legs crossed on each other, a position I usually assume whenever I wish to astral project.
"Hopefully we'll be done soon," I told her as I flapped my eyes closed and lay a palm on her skin for contact.
I was instantly transported into the firmament of her mind. Once I landed, I spread out my connection as an invitation and tainted the aura to appear safe and protective.
Seconds ticked by and nothing has knocked me out yet. It means my plan was working. Soon enough it kicked in, and I landed the access into her stronghold.
To my utmost surprise, her weapon against my control was a memory. I neared the glowing hub surrounded by blue hues, faint cries echoed from inside.
Does it mean most of those who are immune to my enslavement are protected by a traumatic experience?
I was curious about the memory, I had to destroy it so I might as well know what was inside. I tapped on the orb and I was sucked in before I could blink.
The scenery looks like an outside world, and there was a girl, a girl I was quick to recognize as Lisa's younger version. She was out on a field playing with two older kids, two boys who shared a striking resemblance with her.
"Come on Lisa, you can do it. Let's meet your wolf," the playful voice of her brother urged with avidity, he seemed to eager to see his little sister shift.
"I'm scared, momma said the first time is usually painful and I don't want to cry." Little Lisa pouted after her excuse.
"There's nothing to be scared of, once it happens, it never happens again. It's brief and wouldn't last long, trust me, you should not be afraid." The brother moved close to her and patted her head.
"Yeah I promise to get you anything you want, except for that witchy doll. I'm telling you the doll is possessed."
"Ryker!" The eldest among them snapped in caution.
"Fine, but how do I do that? What do I do?"
I believe Lisa had just gotten her wolf and was a little to shift for her first time, what exactly in this memory turn dark and became traumatic? So far it's a lovely memory.
"Just call out to your wolf, and let her take control," the brother gave her a tip.
Little Lisa then closed her eyes and I assumed did what her brother told her to do, when her eyes flapped open next, they glowed like the orb that held this memory in the first place, bright and shimmering.
Instead of her to arch and began shifting, claws instantly grew out of her hands. She saw it and was happy, she jumped up in excitement.
Meanwhile her brothers' look that was once eager to see their sister bloom had turned forlorn, they stared at Lisa with both fear and sadness in their eyes.
"You're an omega," one of them whispered after a gasp.
"Did mom and dad knows about this?" The other said, both still in awe of their sister's nature.
Lisa ran to her brother, and hugged him, mistakenly nicking the brother on his hand as she shoved her tiny arms around him.
"See, I have shifted, I'm now powerful." She laughed, pulling away from the eldest she wrapped around and moved to the second one.
Upon embracing him too her claws mistakenly nicked him too on the side. The brother was quick to notice that the small cut didn't heal up and instead had a black ink printed on it.
"Wait what's going on?" The brother quickly pulled away from Lisa to properly observe his arms, only to see a vein, black vein rapidly forming from the area and spreading out to his body.
The eldest one who saw what was happening to his little brother checked himself and saw the same happening to him. In matter of seconds, the veins had spread out and has nearly covered them whole .
"What's going on?" Lisa cried out when she saw the state of her brothers. She instantly ran away, I assumed it was to go get help.
I watched the brothers yelped and struggled, before they dropped dead to the floor.
Barely a minute later, Lisa arrived with two elder figures. They must be her parents.
The father rushed to the eldest, while the mother grabbed the middle. "Lisa, what happened?"
"They told me to shift, and I did and I hugged them, I mistakenly cut them with this," she paused to flex her claws, "only for them to end up like that."
"You shifted and remained in your human form?" The father questioned, his brows creased with confusion.
"Yes, Tyler said it'll be painful but it wasn't at all. I just closed my eyes, summoned my wolf, and boom I grew this." She once again flexed her claws in reference.
"No werewolf is able to do that unless they're hybrids." The father added the pieces together before he trailed his gaze to meet his wife. "You killed my sons." His eyes blazed with rage.
"No no no, you don't understand."
The man was right, only hybrids is privileged to shift and still remain in their human wolves. Even lycans, they might look human in their final form, but are very much not human. They become taller than usual, their legs transformed into hind legs, with hairs all over their face and body. I've seen their transformation once to know what they look like.
"Mom, dad. Are they gonna be okay?" Lisa's tiny sounded concerned that drew attention back to her, only for her father to see her eyes glowing blue.
"She's an omega, an abomination. You cheated on me to give me an abomination?!!!!!" The husband yelled as he grabbed the woman by her neck in front of the little girl.
Lisa broke into sobs as she witnessed her father get physical with her mother. "I'm going to kill the both of you," he threatened on a serious note coated with anger.
The mother managed to land a kick between her husband's legs to cause him a brief distress, she took the opportunity to grab Lisa's hand that still has her claws out and not in yet.
Lisa's claws dug into her palms but she didn't care as she took to her heels. "Lisa hold on to me," she instructed as she threw Lisa up and shifted into her wolf.
Lisa landed on her back and did as her mother told her to do.
The mother managed to make it up out of the pack and into the woods before she collapsed and Lisa fell off her back, Lisa yelled and tried to wake her mom up but she wouldn't wake. The mom has transformed into her human self and was now covered in the same black vein that lined his two dead son's body.
When Lisa with her super hearing abilities picked on numerous footsteps approaching where she was, instinct told her that she wasn't safe so she took to her little heels.
Her fear of danger triggered the other side of her as she zoomed deeper into the woods in a speed that wasn't normal for a werewolf.
Then I get it. She's an omega hybrid. Vampire and a werewolf. A dangerous combination or breed. Holy moon.
That was the end of the memory before I got transported back to her mind. Too bad I have to get rid of this. It was really painful and concerning, but there's no room for jeopardy so I took the orb and shattered it.
Goodbye mental guard. And hello to my new puppet.
