  Chapter 046

   Myra's point of view

I stood rooted to a position, ignorant of my surroundings. My senses felt irrational, as though it wasn't there and could not conclude a sentence about my current dilemma.

"Salome! Salome!!" I called out to my wolf, with the great hope that she'd have the answers to the questions I'm unable to ask.

For some reason my leg shifted, I was able to move and began walking towards what looks like a farmhouse. Except it wasn't any farmhouse, it was the one I grew up in.

As I arrived by the door, it pulled open and the familiar face of my mother popped out. My eyes glazed with awe as she smiled at me.

"Myra, where have you been? We've been worried sick." She pulled me in for a hug. My father came right behind her and joined in on the position.

This whole situation seems familiar. But my brain is too foggy to piece out the clues for details.

None of my parents looked a day over their age, but I on the other hand is me. An eighteen year old girl with-

No words came to form my past, what is my past? I have no idea of my past. All I can remember is I'm here, and that I grew up here. Something is not right, and I can't pinpoint what it is that's strange.

My parents led me and ushered me to the table to sit down for dinner.

My mom patted my head, "I specifically cooked your favorite, my child." She went on to serve me of my favorite meal.

I was too confused to dig in instantly, instead I watched her serve my father's plate and hers before she took her seat right next to my father, but opposite me.

"Myra, won't you eat?" She raised her brows at me.

I glanced at my father and he's began eating. I nodded at my mother and picked up a spoon to start eating when we heard a crash right outside our house.

My head cracked at the direction, and bumps rose on my skin.

It was silent for about ten more seconds when another crash came landing on our roof this time. "Okay, I need to go check what that is about. You two stay here and be safe, I'll be back soon." My father pushed back his chair and stood up.

For some reasons I didn't sit well with that decision, I sprang up right after my dad. "Don't go." I tugged at his wrist and drag him to a stop.

He looked up at me and down to the wrist I held with so much might. "Baby, are you okay?" He quizzed with concern.

"No dad, please stay here with us. There's nothing outside, don't go please," I begged him, and I have no idea why I'm begging.

My instinct just doesn't want him going outside to check out what that crash was about. I have a hunch it is something bad and we'll regret.

"Aww my sweet love, you look afraid." He came to me and rub my cheek down to my jaw, "But there's nothing dangerous out there, I just need to check out which of those wild animals are making a mess out of our yard, that's all. I'll be back in a jiffy, you stay with your mom and be cool alright? I'll be back right now," he assured me as he managed to release my grip on him.

"No no no, no please," I pleaded as I ran after him.

"Myra what's wrong?" My dad now looked wary more than concerned.

I don't know, I can't explain, but I don't just want him to go outside.

"Please don't go outside-" A loud crash near our front door cut through my words before I could make a complete statement.

"That's it, these bears needs to leave!" My father turned around, grabbed his jacket and walked out.

"No!" I screamed as I dashed right behind him. We both got outside to meet three tall men standing in the shadows of the woods that surrounded our house.

"Gentlemen, can we help you?" My father was civilized enough to ask, but those men doesn't look like they need any help or any sort.

"Dad please let's go back inside and lock the doors." My words lingered by when those men propelled themselves into the air.

They shifted amidst their jump, and landed back on the ground in their big black and scary wolf forms. Fear gripped me as I move close to my dad and grab his arm.

"Let's go back inside." I pull on his arm and made to go back inside when I heard heavy movements from behind me.

Instinct had my head whirling backward to see one of the three black wolves had jumped forward and pinned a bite over my father's shoulder, he yanked on the bite and my father tore instantly away from me.

"Dad!" I screamed in pure agony as my father flew into the air and landed right in an open space that got him caged by the wolves.

My mom came up at the heard of my scream and instantly went into panic.

"Stay away from my husband!" She yelled as she transformed into her auburn wolf, and ran off to meet her husband.

My father told with blood all over his arm transformed into his medium sized grey wolf.

The three wolves snarled as they walked around them in circle.

I couldn't do anything, I just stood there and prayed nothing bad happens. But my prayers were quickly discarded when one of the wolves launched an attack on my mother, and another on my father.

They were too big and strong for my parents to tackle. I watched in horror as their large claws dug into my mother's body and the painful howl that slipped out of her.

Blood painted the scene and my parents were slashed and pummeled to the ground.

"Myra.... Run...." My mother shifted into her human form to pass the weak instruction.

Tears streak down my cheeks as I stepped back with my eyes on her bloodied and battered body. At the heard of her words, the three wolves looked at me.

Horror in their faces as they growled loudly at me. I didn't think twice before I sped into the house and locked the door behind me.

I made for the back exit instantly, while my ear picked on their movements as they break down the doors and chased after my disappearance.

The awful scene of my father battered in blood as he hang on his last breath flashed in my head, my mother as she uttered her last words. Tears dripped heavily from my eyes as I picked my pace.

But I was no match for them, they weren't just stronger, they were also faster and was catching up with me.

Still I remain relentless and determined to escape them, I am not going to let them kill me the same way they ended my parent's life.

I ducked and dodged the branches spread on my way as I navigated the curvy roads to this wood, I had no idea where I was ended but I just need to get away from my chasing predators.

I stepped on a crack that twisted my ankle and fucked my speed up as I fell to the ground in a painful thud.

A second of such falter was all it took for them to catch up and surround me before I could recover and be back on tracks.

They stared at me hungrily and barred their teeth. Fear shrouded me and I whistled back to the goddess to come to my aid.

One of them suddenly howled, as though it was a signal for the others to pounce on me. They bit on my neck, and my sides at the same time that sent the most painful sensation down my system.

"Arghhh!" I yelled out in agony as they chewed further into my body till I couldn't scream anymore and lost consciousness to the pain.

Darkness sets in and it was all gone soon enough, I opened my eyes to see the afterlife but was shocked to see myself standing in the same position I was standing before shit turns bloody.

My feet moved and I began walking towards a familiar house, a farmhouse, the same house I'd grow up in.

I got there and before I could knock, the door opened as my mother's face popped up with a smile.

   What the fuck is happening?
