Chapter 068
Logan's point of view
I spent the night worrying about Deena, what could have happened to her? Why would she worked an immunity against my telepathy.
She was never immune to it, so for sure someone must have helped her. Either that or she got captured, and her captors didn't want me to find her had to spelled her.
I have no idea where to begin searching for her, that and I still have Myra and the Alpha King to deal with. The both of them are very much still a pain to my peace.
I was laid flat on the bed, I already freshened up, brushed my teeth and got myself for the day. All I'm waiting for is my breakfast which has yet to arrive since the dawn break.
I still very much scouted at the palace's guesthouse, there I'm tucked out and away from The Alpha King's reach. Also, I could bleep under his radar without his eyes in sight.
My enhanced ability to ear picked up a knock on my door, that must be my breakfast. I rolled out of the bed, slipped into my slippers as I jogged over to the door.
Upon my arrival I met the door opened already, even though it was locked. I stood face to face with Myra De Vries, who had a tray in her hand with covered meals carefully arranged on the tray.
"Breakfast?" She stretched the tray for me to collect as she invited herself further inside.
"Myra?" There was no doubt to how shocked I am, and no hiding it. "What are you doing here?" My tone matched the awe expressed on my face.
I was hesitant to collect the breakfast tray she brought. She smiled at me, and walked over to the living room. She sat down on a single couch while I remain rooted in the spot I was when I saw her came in.
How did she even find out this is where I reside? I don't recall telling her or giving her a hint. My brows furrowed with suspicion as I closed my door and walked over to her.
"Myra? Are you okay?" The Myra I know wouldn't be in my room sitting on my couch, talk-less of smiling at me.
"What is it? Are you not happy to see me here?" Her voice was exactly like that of Myra's, still I refuse to believe this is Myra sitting in front of me. It's unbelievable; and I meant that literally.
"How did you get here? I mean how did you come to know that this is where I live in the palace?" I interrogated, as I carefully dropped the tray on the center table.
"Uhm..." her fingers drummed on her chin, "I paid a psychic to help me finger it out. How's that for an answer?" She weaved a different smile, less genuine and more sarcastic.
"I'm just curious that's all."
"More like a dummy, do I look like a fool to you? I admit I have no idea where you might be and I've been longing to see you for quite awhile now. First I know you reside here in the palace, I don't just know where, but I'm sure one of the maids will. So I followed a suspicious maid here, collect the tray she has with her when we got to your door, and sent her back to the palace. You really treated yourself to a fist in luxury," she made her last comment as her head whirled around the room in inspection.
This might be the guesthouse, but she's right about the luxurious furnishing and designs. Nothing here lacked.
"Need I remind you I'm an alpha myself, so this doesn't mean a thing."
"Yeah, Alpha-hole. How can I forget? I've missed you," she responded, her face landing on mine as she made that chary confession.
It wasn't just her confession that seemed wary, her energy or vibe as a whole was off in a way I can't quite explain or understand.
"Miss me? We last saw each other yesterday where you made it clear of the things you can do and cannot do," I purposely spoke around the incident vaguely, my gaze keened on her.
She looked around, lost there for a second before she quickly composed herself. "Whatever I say, I change my mind and I don't mean it. I'm here to prove that to you," she said, a wide smile pressed to her lips as she pushed to her feet.
She stepped closer so the small distance that separated us could be no more. Her eyes locked onto mine and the smile on her face slowly grew plain.
Her pupils went soft and desires if I wasn't hallucinating crept into her eyes. She came closer, so close her body met with mine. The mere contact shivering a jolt of electricity down my spine.
Her head was tipped up so her eyes could remain fixed on me, her arm leaned out to touch me. She slipped both of her arms to circled my body as she pulled my body inherently closer.
I was too stunned to speak, too awed to react. Has she truly forgiven me like I've always wanted?
"I want you to mate with me," her voice mentioned in a tone that sounded dulcet, sweet to the ears, pleasing as it went in into my head.
I smirked. Finally!
"I'm more than happy to do that," I replied as I curved my arm around her waist. I used the other to guide her face into mine as I plunged a kiss down her mouth.
'This is not Myra, there's no signal from her wolf,' Leo spoke into the moment. His words halted my actions as I pulled away distracted.
"What are you talking about?" I directed at my wolf.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Myra directed at me.
'I'm telling you that in front of you is not who you think it is, that's not Myra. For someone who has forgiven us, I sensed no appearance from her wolf, and what does her forgiveness has to do with a wolfless Myra? Because I'm very sure it's impossible to hide one's wolf from one's mate.'
Leo made total sense, and I was a fool to have fallen for this.
If this wasn't Myra then who could be here pretending to be her.
"You're not my mate," I told her simply, there was no need to beat around the bush. She was still close, so I used the opportunity to grab her neck.
I pinned her down to the couch with my sprawled over her. "Reveal yourself to me or I make you suffer in ways you won't recover from," I threatened, my gaze on her had completely turned dark as well as my voice gone feral.
"What are you doing? Logan, I-"
"No excuses, don't make me shatter your braincells." I pushed for an answer.
Her eyes grew into boredom, and at once she grabbed my hand that pinned her neck and twisted it so rough I pulled away fearful of her brute strength.
She stood up in a blink and sent a kick into my stomach that had me in the air flying across the room.
My brain blurred, but could hear her footsteps matched out of the house before I gave in to the darkness that's been triggered in my brain.
