  Chapter 032

   Logan's point of view

Deena rushed into the room in broad turbulence, dread etched all over her face as she ran to me.

"Logan we're screwed, we're fucking screwed, Logan!" She cried in pure panic as she held my wrists, "We need to leave, we need to go right now." She made to drag me up.

I withdrew her hold and held her back instead, "What's going on? What happened?" I asked, my brows furrowed in confusion.

We'd retire to our room here at the guest house when she requested me to locate Myra's room for her, she'd said she wanted to go talk and convince her further, and seeing the little impact her words had on her back at the first room we met her; I thought why not. Perhaps Myra might listen to her if she has something good to say.

So I had a maid lead her to Myra, and hoped for a positive response.

"Myra is not to be saved, she's not the Myra we know or want to know again, we have to leave her and let her go, Logan. Pleaseeeeee," she stretched on the word, her eyes watery.

"Please just tell me what happened with Myra? Please?"

I can't just pack up my bags and leave when I have no idea what went down between them, and even things went south for us; I refuse to leave this space until I'm out of breath and Myra is safe from that mess of a beast.

"You remember that maid you controlled not to go call The King, well when I went to Myra to speak with her, she got super angry and tried to kill me, she had pinned to a wall and would have ended me if the maid hadn't walked in and asked who I was. It was only then Myra let me go and instructed the maid to go get the King, now I'm sure the King is coming for us because Myra would have let him in on everything. What we're here for, how we arrived here, basically everything in our advantage but put us in jeopardy," she finally explained, endless tears streaking down her cheeks.

"You have to calm down, Deena. Have you forgotten who I am or what I can do? Let the Alpha King come for us, he'd just make it easier for me to take him out." I shrugged, the least troubled.

"You couldn't enslave Myra, what makes you think the Alpha King is not immune also. He's called the most powerful Alpha not by a joke but by the strongest feat-"

"You should go, Deena," I cut into her statement.

   "What?" She shrieked in awe.

"I'm not leaving until the Alpha King pays for what he did to me, and Myra is out and safe from his evil plans," I said to her, determined as I pulled my wrists out of her hold.

   "Don't you get it, the-"

"Don't try to convince me otherwise cause it'll be futile, just go and save yourself. Do it now before it's too late, I promise I'll be fine and will stay alive. Go Deena!" I urged with a gesture.

She stood still, her lips parted as she looked at me with so much emotions. "Logan," she called softly, her eyes on me droopy. "No," she voiced with a negative nod, as though I was betraying her.

"Deena you're wasting your time, get out while you still can, don't die because of me please," I said, "Go Deena, you can help run the pack for me till I'm back," I added as I turned around.

"Fine." I heard her and the shuffling sound of footsteps and movements next.

I waited for about a minute before I turned back around to see she was gone and her luggage that came with mine gone with her. I sighed as I sank back into the couch to ponder on my next move.

Deena wasn't suppose to come with me, I never wanted her to come with me cause her being with me would be a negative drawback. I mean while I'm occupied with trying to save Myra, I'd be on the lookout to keep her safe and away from any possible danger.

However, she's my best friend and insisted she wants to come, she promised she can handle herself and now see where that leads us.

Now the Alpha King is one step ahead and the element of surprise is no longer in my favor like I wanted it to be. Even if my powers could work on him, what's to say he isn't building a contingency plan already for the advantage.

Myra would have outed all of me to him, and that should have me on guard not seated trying to strategize a miracle that is not going to happen.

I may not be able to enslave Myra but it doesn't mean she's immune to my powers, just like the Alpha King. In as much I was able to get into his mind, he's not immune to all of my powers but part of it.

There's a lot of other ways I can still fight him without dominating his will.

I strolled to the door and quickly work the lock on, I need to speak with Myra. I can't go out right now so I have to try another means.

Although, Deena had said she tried to kill her but that was just hard to believe and I didn't want to call her a liar. It's impossible to believe that Deena who is a trained beta wolf could get overpowered by a mere Myra, an omega wolf at that.

Myra has never trained and I'm pretty sure doesn't know the basics to combat, so there's no way she could have took on Deena and tried to take her out.

A knock came down on my door, and the knob rattled for entrance. My heart jumped when I sensed more than three men presence outside my door.

   Fuck I'm casted.

A bang came next on the door, unlike the gentle knock.

I can take them. I'm a trained Alpha with more battle sense than these assholes, except zero experience. I never had to fight because there was no war, I just trained and trained for training's sake.

The door kicked opened and like close to dozen guards trooped in with each wielding a different sharp weapons.

They marched to surround me and stage me at their center. I huffed as I took a fighting position, "Alright gentlemen, let's get this over with," I said as I cracked my neck at both sides.

The first one launched himself at me, his dagger sharp and swift into the air as I ducked and grab him by the arm, rolled him around to meet with the incoming force of a different guard.

I pushed a kick into the one near me by my side and sent a punch into his jaw.

I winced when a cut sliced through my arm, but it instantly healed before it could deter me. I move around to grab the head of the one who cut me and slam it into the nearest ground.

I quickly stood up to counter the next attack when I saw them all falling back and dropping their weapons.

I stared around confuse until they began to shift and soon I was staring into the hungry eyes of wolves.

   Dang!

Well shit just turn fucking interesting.
