Chapter 062
Lucas' point of view
"So you mean to say you couldn't find Logan?" I conversed with my beta via our mind-link.
"No one knew where he went, we thought maybe he ran back to his home pack, but upon our arrival at the pack; it was empty and barren. As though there was never a settlement there. I'm afraid he outsmarted us."
"No outsmart me!" I rebuked strongly, "We snuff it out with a means before right? What happened to using the same means to snuff him out again?"
Since when did I have to think for Neil. He is beginning to upset me in ways I do not wish my consequences on him.
"Oh-"
"Oh what? Since when do you fucking operate without your brain? You're beginning to slack Neil, either you buckle the fuck up or I buckle you into a grave. I liked your competence, don't change my mind." I ended the conversation and cut off the link.
Neil was my beta for a reason. He had the same mindset as me, he was more than my beta, he's right hand man. I trust him, he's as smart as the devil, very calculative, and a swift assassin.
He knows how to get it done, so I don't know what it is with Logan he's finding it hard to get done.
I left Myra to go search for Lisa, but Neil's urgent need to speak with me took a bit of my time. Logan wouldn't be that far. He'd want to stay away to keep his distance, and also stay around to keep his eyes on Myra.
I know he wouldn't be in this palace again, he's already been caught in here so this would become a dangerous domain for his residence. He'd still be around, all Neil has to do is get a different breed of Lycan trackers to track him out.
I was going to visit my sister, we're due for a discussion. Apart from her being the suspect behind Lisa's disappearance, it's time to also let her know she won't be staying for long.
I did trust Myra when she offered to help me figure out Maddy's anchor to the living world, but without her help I still would have figured it out myself so I didn't call off my plan to dredge it out. I led her on and made her believe she could help, whereas I was already close with figuring it out.
Madeleine had chosen her old room, the room she shared with her brother. Albeit it's been years since their demise, she still held some sort of connection with the room and wouldn't go for a room suitable for her age.
I didn't bother to knock when I arrived, I just went in and there she was seated in front of her mirror as she combed her hair.
"All these years on earth and the last thing you never learnt was manners?" She tsked and shook her head, "Come on in, brother. To what do I owe your visit?" She turned around to face, leaning her back against the placement of her mirror's table with her hands flayed on top.
"Wherever you took Lisa, release her and let her go. Also I saw what you've done to my office, you could have just come to ask me what my plan was, and I would have explained it to you perfectly instead of you messing up my office," I told her as I walked closer, the mere sight of her urged a rage greater than I wish to contain inside of me.
I wanted to launch closer, grab her head and yanked it off her neck. But what's the need when she'll just come right back to life, screw death for the deal he has with her.
She cracked a side smile as her head tilted, "You rate me more than I rate myself, brother." She chuckled at her own words.
"You think I kidnapped one of your ingredients? I mean sure I might have filtered through your office for informations, but kidnap your ingredient?"
"She's not my ingredient! Watch your mouth, I can't take you out doesn't mean you can't suffer." My eyes glowed red, I meant my threat. I could gut her to death, chop her to pieces bits by bits, all for me to do again whenever she comes back to life. She shouldn't push my buttons.
"About that, it's you who needs to watch his mouth. And the ball is no longer in your court, this has become my game." She stood up swiftly, moved toward me to stab the side of my stomach before I could react or evade her attack.
It was swift and fast. And where did the dagger came from?
Blood spilled out of the cut and pain seared into my system. She tucked out the dagger and pushed me out of her front, so hard I slammed into the wall in a tough thud. I groaned at the anguish that yanked at my body.
"You can definitely try to kill me, stab me, twist my neck, poison me, any ways you can think of to kill me or make me suffer. I'd just like to let you know my immortality comes with a perk, my newest form of durability. Whatever you do to me will happen to you, just that I won't feel the pain whereas you will. Say you stab me now in the neck, a stab will also appear by your neck and you'll have both my pain and your pain to deal with." She laughed like a crazy woman, she must be enjoying this.
She had stab me with a dagger soaked deep in the stem of a certain seed, flower, my weakness. Jade lotus. I wasn't going to heal up anytime soon.
"Enjoy it while it lasts alright. You'd find yourself back where you belong soon enough. That deal you have with death that you think shields you from all harms." It was my turn to curve a smug smirk, "I'm going to cut it off soon. You think you can stop me." I laughed back at her.
I pushed myself off the floor I was sprawled against and assumed a solid stance, albeit the side of my stomach was leaking a huge amount of blood. I could care less, it affects me doesn't mean it has a hold on me.
"I know all about your deal with death Sister, and how you're connected to our world through an anchor. I'm going to destroy that anchor, and send you back to where you belong, I promise. Count on that." I turned around and walked out of the room.
It's high time I visit this woman. She should be done by now.
