  Chapter 036

    Logan's point of view

Though I was left with a stale strength, and a numbed knuckles. I managed to round them off and out defeated.

Since I still couldn't afford the Alpha King knowing that I'm still around, it was heck of a work structuring the minds of the guards he sent to apprehend me.

Fortunately, none of them had immunity to my enslavement. So now his men are my men, unbeknownst to him.

They're all going to return to him, and tell him I'm gone and there was no traces of me around the palace or anywhere at all. They're to keep me updated if the King has any plans in progress for me.

I'd drained myself taking care of the men's situation I needed to rest and let my energy refill. I think I've spent more than an hour already seated still on this couch to rest.

I need to see Myra and talk to her tonight one more time before I call today a day well lived, but first there's one person I feel like chatting with.

Soon as my wolf was done rejuvenating my tamed energy, I got into position with my legs crossed and palms intertwined.

I'm better than before so I should be able to protect myself from any harm that could pop up while I'm in his head, plus he couldn't kill me the last time I was in there.

I arrived at his dark, ominous, and lifeless void of a mind. There was nothing much to feed my sight except for his caged beast that seems to be sleeping and unaware of my presence.

    I smiled at my advantage.

I approached the sleeping beast in silent footsteps to avoid waking him up, soon I closed the distance between us and I was near him with only the bars of his cage separating us.

He's connected to his host and shared a life force with him, his host's memories are his just like his belongs to his host. I stretched my hand out into the cage to gently touch his head without blaring the silence accosting the moment.

My eyes squeezed closed and images flashed through my mind. The horror, pure gore, my lips parted in shock and terror.

More images and brief moments from his memories poured into my vision. All of which were far from nice or good.

I sank deeper, trying to pin a memory down for a better picturing. I took the one that consisted of a younger him and his family.

He was in a room with his mother, father, brother and a sister.I never knew he had a sister, or this big of a family even.

"Lucius, there's something we have to tell you. You have to pass the crown down to your brother, you can no longer be the crowned prince," the man I assumed was his father said, his statement directed to a young boy with an appearance that matched that of the Alpha King.

"What do you mean, father? I'm the first male child, how can I pass my inheritance to my brother?" Lucius attacked his father, his eyes glowing red.

"You're an abomination!" The Late King hollered as he got on his feet. "I refuse to nurse you and tame your monstrosity, guards!" He beckoned for his men.

"Manuel, what are you doing? This is not what we talked about, what are you doing?" A terrified woman questioned her husband's rancid decisions, fear in her eyes.

Men trooped in with harmed weapons.

"Seize that monster." He pointed at Lucius, the young Alpha King, "And go kill him, it's an order," he instructed coldly.

The men went around Lucius and grabbed him, he appeared unfazed less than scared as the men dragged him out.

"No! My son! No!" The mother screamed as she ran towards the guards taking the child away.

"Seize her too and hold her down!" The King commanded and his mean yielded.

"I see you're having a great time learning about me, Logan," a familiar voice whispered from beside me, and when I turned I jerked at the presence of the Alpha King.

He was right there with me, watching his own memories with me.

He smirked at my shock, as his gaze turned to face the scene in front of us. "That was my own father deciding to take me out because I was born with an unnatural mind, said that makes me a monster," he explained casually, shrugging at his own words.

"But then." He raised up his hand and wave, the scene faded in an instant and we were back at the center of his lifeless abyss.

"I don't appreciate you sneaking around my head to find dirts on me, ask me directly and if I feel good enough I might answer you," he looked at me as he spoke.

Anger surged within me just looking at his face. He murdered my mother in cold blood, took away my aunt and my mate!

"I'm not here for a friendly chat or anything, I'm here to find out your plans and how to stop you," I told him in gritted teeth, unable to hide the fury in my eyes.

"You're welcome to try, though you should know that many have tried to indeed stop me but failed, and I think you'll make a pretty good impression on my collection." He curved a dark smile, "I mean you saw with your own eyes my father instructing for my slaughter, opposed my destiny to rule our world, yet here I am today. The Alpha King, alive and not dead, so do you still think you can stop me?" He sounded amused, that made his question somewhat rhetorical.

"Give me back my mate, she doesn't belong you-" I choked on my words when his hand swung out and grabbed my neck in a swift and direct move.

His eyes grew dark and danger lined his face, "You do not claim ownership on what is mine, get it?" He sentenced, each word of his coated in pure evil and venom.

His hold on my neck tightened and I could the feel the air in my lungs shortening, I opened my mouth to answer him but no words surfaced.

"I really don't care, claim ownership of her again and that'll be the last thing you ever do on this earth." He dropped my neck after passing his threat in the calmest way possible.

"Now, what should be your punishment for sneaking into my mind without permission?" His index rose to tap on his cheek.

"Are you not even scared? I'm able to get inside your head and converse with you, I can enslave you for the rest of eternity, I can-" I paused when I saw him burst out laughing.

"You cannot enslave me, you're just an insignificant fool with a psychic juice you think has effects on me," he responded, still in laughter.

I smiled, "But I'm not just a psychic and my powers aren't just enslavement." I didn't know what got into me but I just felt the need to show him what I'm made of.

Since I can get into his head, it means he's not limited to psychic attacks, in fact no one on earth is immune to such attacks so I moved close and grabbed his head.

"Here are other tricks I can pull off, asshole," I said to him before I shattered his mind and exited his head.

He's currently trapped at the base of his own mind, stuck with his darkest fears and worries manifested into moments that is to haunt him.

It's high time he fears me. I'm coming for what's mine!

Author's note: I have to clarify that I'm aware of referring Lucas to a different name throughout this chapter, I'd like to let you all know that it wasn't a mistake and was deliberate.

Lucas used to go by Lucius sometime ago before plots unfolded, stay tuned to find out more.
