  Chapter 054

   Myra's point of view

When I woke up next, the clock had nearly struck noon. But I feel more refreshed than ever. I quickly freshened up and got myself ready for the day before I went down for breakfast.

I haven't seen Lucas since or yet, and honestly I'm avoiding an audience with him. Now that I know who he truly is, I have got to be careful and not be around him all the time. I also can't afford him to sniff my suspicions so I have to go seek him sooner or later.

Out of all the dishes prepared for breakfast, I settled for four slices of pancakes to go with the honey syrup.

I was halfway through my meal when Madeleine showed up at the table. I'd been the only one at the table until her arrival.

"Good morning," I greeted her with a mouthful of food.

She's so beautiful, her hair was red and long, lush and silky. Her slender plus curvy figure also rocked the red gown that adored her body with vibrant auras and grace. Her hair was styled into a bun, but with fistful strands left on each side of her frontal package.

She nodded at me as she slid into a seat opposite me. I couldn't get my eyes off her, and observed as she delicately served herself a meal, classy and elegant as she moved her hands around. She was pretty down to her long fingers even. Gosh!

Oh Goddess, what would it take to be this beautiful?

"Do you have anything to ask or I've become a late morning topic you need to study?" She called out my intense focus on her, and it was then only I jerked back to my senses.

"I'm sorry," I mouthed an apology while I resumed my breakfast. "You're just really pretty," I told her.

I guess the beauty genes runs in the family, cause it was the same with his psychopathic brother. He also was a sight to behold.

I didn't just fall for his charm and words, I'd fell for everything about him. From the hair on his head, straight down to his nails on his toe, every single thing about him once intrigued or fascinated me.

"Thanks, but have you seen yourself? Compare to me, you look extremely better." She shrugged, as though it's a known fact.

I didn't want to argue, because I've seen myself more times than I can count and I don't think I compare at all. Except if I'm not seeing what others are seeing, and is that possible?

"You should really consider the advice I gave to you yesterday, you need to run while you still had the chance," her voice jolted once again as she neatly placed a napkin over her thighs.

"But if I run he'll come after me, and I don't think I can outrun a chase with him. I think if I run he'll catch up to me sooner than I wanted and it'll become more dangerous for me than it already is," I said to her truthfully.

She dropped her eating tools to converse with me, her spacey gaze now turned and pinned on me. "So what do you plan to do?"

"I plan to save myself. If I run, he'd know that I've found out about his plans for me and when he comes to get me- which he will, he'd likely turn me to his prisoner since he has no reason to be fake with me anymore and there might not be a chance then for me to fight for myself," I explained to her.

"And how do you intend to save yourself huh? No offense, but you're just a weak omega who hasn't clocked her prime when you should have."

"You're right, but this is not going to be a physical fight. He has no idea I'm aware of his plan, and that's my edge. You told me you seek his destruction, well I've come to have a similar intent, so what do you say about lending each other a hand?"

She stared down at me for some time without voicing a response, "Why should I trust you and work with you?" Her tone sounded mean, and it matched her expression.

"Because you know there's no harm I would mean for you," I sharply responded and she hummed.

"Well I have to eat, I'll tea on it later on." She proceed to devour her meal afterwards.

I wasn't done with mine, but I've had enough so I cleaned up and exited the scene.

'I like what you did, I wasn't expecting that. A team up with the villain's nemesis, that's interesting.' Salome was all hyped as I could see.

"I did it because I didn't want to work with Logan like you'd suggested." The idea was that Logan had more informations on the Alpha King than we do, so we'd need his knowledge in form of a help to take down the Alpha King.

However, as fate would aid me, Madeleine came into the picture. Between him and her, it's obvious who has more knowledge on Lucas and that's who I have chosen to work with.

'Logan has the ability to read minds, to read memories, if Madeleine decides not to work with you, Logan can easily help us get what we want from her so either ways, we still have to keep him by our side.'

   "No can do," I deadpanned.

   "Your Highness."

I glanced at the voice that greeted me to see Beta Neil with his head bowed.

"Your Betaness," I retorted with an eye roll. The fact he's working with his Alpha to destroy innocent lives irks me so much I've come to despise him as a whole.

"His Majesty has been looking for you for awhile now, he'd like to speak with you in his office," he said, his head stuck in the same bent position and wouldn't bulge.

"No." I nodded negatively, "You will go back to him and tell him that I'm not coming to his office, if he's been searching for me like you said, then he'll be the one here and not you. I'll be in my room if he needs to talk, and we have to talk so run along now and go tell him that." I hissed and walked out of his face.

Both him and the Lucas himself are both screwed in the head.

I have to keep up my act, remain the way I was before. And the me before I find out that Lucas was a liar would be upset that I woke up from a brief coma and Lucas wasn't by my side.

Also he needs to explain why it was his maid who induced the coma.
