  Chapter 039

   Myra's point of view

Morning came earlier than expected. I yawned as I stretched my body against a warm comfortable surface, or a protective layer.

A smile crept over my face seeing how close I'd snuggled myself in with Lucas, his wide arms wrapped around me and huge legs draped over me to keep me to himself too.

I could hear his heavy breaths as he was still deep in slumber whereas I've woken up. My head tilted to an angle that allowed me a full and clear view of his handsome face.

My grin widened at the majestic sight, my gaze wavered from his lush and long eyebrows, to his straight pointed nose, and those tasty lips of his. I think the moon goddess favored his appearance a little bit too much, she took her time creating him to look this good. He could honestly pass for a Greek god and no questions would fly.

"Are you going to keep staring or wake me up with an actual kiss?" His lips moved to utter the statement in a deepened tone that sounded almost unnatural.

Woah! I remember when I met him and he spoke to me in a similar tone that instantly melted my bunch. If I wasn't sure before, I'm pretty sure I am now that I like it when he speaks with this voice of his.

My grin turned into a chuckle before I leaned in and place a quick kiss on his lips.

"That's not a kiss, let me show you what is." One of the arms wrapped around me moved to my nape and shove my face down to meet his.

His lips parted to take mine in, slow and passionate, our tongue danced in a gentle rhythm. I opened more to him and he explored me further, the sour taste of his breath beautiful than I imagined.

He broke the kiss a second later and rested my head on his chest, "Good morning to you too, Mon Diamant," he said, as his hand went up to massage my hair.

My hand curled up to hold his, butterflies parading my stomach at our position and this moment. If I could make one wish, it'd be for us to stay like this forever, in bed alone with him and no worries at all. There's so much to deal with outside our confines that made me cherish this morning more than I should.

The issue with his sister is still there, Logan refusing to back off and leave me the fuck alone, there's a lot outside this room that needs us to sort them out.

"Tell me love, is there anything you want this morning? Make the request and it shall be granted," his voice passed on to my ears, his tone still rough and hard, as if he knew I love the way my body react to hearing him sound like that.

"Anything like what?" I recapped his words, pursing out my lips.

"I don't know you tell me,"

What I want is for this moment to happen more often, I want to wake up in his arms and to his face every day for the rest of life.

I get that he gave me my own room when I first came in to respect my privacy and baggages, but now I'm ready to let him in beyond my mental walls.

I think I'm ready, it's time for him to mark and claim me as his because I'd like to do the same. Logan can choke on his own dick for all I care, he'll never be coming between me and my mate, never!

"Can I move in to your room?" I stated my request after so much silence and thought to it. I'm sure he'd figure out the motive to my request, that I'm asking to move in here with him because now I want him beyond physically, or emotionally, I want him sexually now.

   That I'm ready.

I expected him to answer with a sounding yes or something like, "Of course, my room is your room." Instead all I got was a muted response.

I sat up to face him, he had a weird look on his face, odd and indecipherable. "Don't you want me here?"

"It's complicated, if you're to stay with me every night then I'll be putting your life in danger. I wouldn't want what happened yesterday to repeat itself now would I? Chances are my wolf could break free and try to hurt you in the middle of the night when the both of us are asleep, I just can't afford that," he explained and it sounded reasonable.

I wonder why the moon goddess would curse him, what could he have done to deserve a cruel fate like that.

"I've never ask, but how did you come about this curse? Like how did you earn it? Or what did you do to get the sentence?"

He stared at me for some seconds before his head fell low, as if pondering on whether it's an information worth sharing with me or not. He looked back up and it's obvious he was gathering his thoughts with the way his lips thinned into a straight line.

"I'm a monster, I'd like to admit that before I answer your question....," he spanned between his statements, "I slaughtered a lot or multiple of her creatures that got ber extremely upset she said I will never enjoy the value of love as I've taken away others happiness and loved ones. I never understood the extent of her words until I got my first mate, I loved her the same way I loved you and I ended up killing her. And when I met you, I was suppose to reject you to save you from me but I couldn't bring myself to after I saw you."

"I immediately wanted you in my life. So I vowed not to let history repeat itself again, and that I would protect you at all cost till I get rid of the punishment for my mistakes,"

This explanation was a secret, a crucial information I deserve to know. Plus I recall asking him yesterday if there was anything else I should know that I don't know yet, and his response was no.

"You've had a mate before?" That explains the others Linda was talking about, but does not at the same time. Linda had said others, but Lucas mentioned just one mate in his story. And his story kind off ticked off about Linda's concerns for me.

"Why didn't you tell me? I asked you yesterday if there was anything at all I should know or you're yet to tell me and you said there was none." I don't understand why he'd lie to me or he just forgot to tell me. Must definitely be the latter.

"I'm sorry," he apologized, "It must have skipped my mind to tell you yesterday, you should know by now that I trust you and I'm willing to share my life secrets with you without caring about your judgements at all."

I don't know if that was a compliment or a shade, but I took it the way my heart fluttered at the heard of that. A compliment.

I smiled back at him. To show that I hold no resentment or anger.

"Now let's go dress up to start the day," he prompted as he swept me into his arms and off the bed.

   To Be Continued.
