Chapter 065
Myra's point of view
Selene not only showed me all I needed to know, she also restored my stolen memories to me. I never knew Logan's cruelty had an alchemical effect, or that he was once a good man to me.
That father of his. He's a pure devil. There was no push in what he does, except for his own greed. My parents fell victim to his betrayal, and even I later fell a victim of his sadistic mindset.
I'm now well informed on Lucas's plan, and his past. All that was said about him were the truth, he wasn't just a monster, he is worse, way bad than who a monster is.
He killed his own family, assumed his brother's identity, slaughtered bunch of creatures. He did this all because of his greed for power, dominance, and a sheer control.
Selene told me I have no choice, I have to work together with Logan, and I wasn't against it like I usually was because of my replenished knowledge. He and I are destined to be with each other forever, he'll never cease to be my mate as I will never cease to be his.
I woke back up on the floor of the shower room, finished up my bath and dressed up. Salome has been awfully quiet since we've learnt the vital truth to our pasts and the core mysteries that surrounded us.
She has no opinion to give or a reaction to share. I could understand.
Night has descended, and it was time for dinner. Lucas didn't come back like he said he will, and a part of me was grateful for that.
I just don't want to see him or look at him, there's a big chance my emotions would betray me and surface in a situation that engaged him.
I went downstairs to have dinner, and like I predicted. His sister was already seated behind the long table devouring one of the prepared meals.
As I took my own seat she glanced at me, my presence must have drew her attention. I waved at her and smiled, she ghosted me and went back to her meal.
What's wrong with her? Didn't we have an healthy chat this morning?
I peeped over and checked the surrounding, there was no sight of guards or maids. "I have something to tell you," I leaned over to talk in a whisper.
"I found out what my mate's plan was for you." Her attention shifted on me at the heard of that, her gaze additionally held heavy curiosity.
"Spill what you know," she urged.
"First, what do you say about that alliance I spoke about during breakfast?" She has a plan for Lucas, and it must be a potent plan cause she's well aware of who Lucas is.
If I get her to become an ally, and get in on her plan, then me and Logan work some tweaks to make it standard.
We only get one chance at this, and so far Lucas is winning. He needs three omegas, and according to what I know he has them all, I was the last one even. All he needs now is for the Blue Moon to lit the sky.
So now we must stop that ritual from taking place, and stop Lucas from unleashing the madness he's looking to unleash.
"How I do know he doesn't have you wrapped around his fingers? How do I know I can trust you?" She eyed me with suspicions, ridiculous suspicions.
"Maybe because you caught me snooping around his office, and gave me the file that exposed him to me as a liar. I cannot begin to explain how he doesn't have me wrapped or sweetened up with his words no longer. I'm just surprised to why you think you can't trust me," I spoke with criticism. Her doubt was ridiculous. My safety is the subject here, there's no way I'd personally not prioritize that.
"I mean he's a liar, there's a good chance he's gotten you roped into believing that he's on a good course and that you shouldn't be scared or afraid of him. Also he might have you come to me, pretend you're interested in working with me, find out my plans and turn right back around to betray me." She shrugged, "It's a non offensive thinking," she added.
"Well he has not, and there's no way he could have. I'm literally not safe with him so why would I work for him?" I pulled back to reply, my tone rising up a notch. Her suspicions sounds justified, but still it was an absurd thinking.
"I lied to him that I wish to help him destroy you, did this because I wanted him to tell me what his plans were for you."
"And what are those plans?"
"He knows to get rid of you, he needs to cut your connection with the underworld. He told me this connection could be in any form of stuff. I told him I'll get closer to you to find out whatever it is you're connected to. So if you're still interested to work with me, I propose we craft a trap for him." I smiled at her, in hopes that an action like that would upped my spirit of authenticity.
She kept to herself for awhile and just pinned her gaze on me, she sighed later on. "Thanks for the information," she said, then proceed to push her seat back and rise on her feet. "But I just don't trust you. And besides, I'm a solo dancer, I don't tweak well with others. You wanna take down the big bad devil, do it on your own, I wish you luck. Thanks again for the information." She smiled back at me, turned around and walked out of my sight.
I was thrown in awe. Once again Salome was right, it's as if she knew such would happen when she told me not to approach her for an alliance. She told me she doesn't want me to work with her.
I didn't know she was this obnoxious. I thought we were on the same page, and shared the same interests.
I looked at the feast of dinner in front of me, and the appeal to serve a dish for my appetizer seemed lost in the ocean.
I think I need to go sleep, I could use a little rest for my brain and mind. Today was quite a day for me.
I too stood up and existed the dining hall to go rest my head in my room, I was halfway through the hallway when I saw a man that looked exactly like Neil being sneaky.
The tiredness shrouding my system faded in an instant, he was at the far end of the hall. He literally looked left, right, and forth before he proceeded to make a turn. That's a suspicious move.
Instinct prompted my feet into motion as I ran straight down the hallway, instead of taking the route that leads upstairs to my room.
I ended up at what happened to be the palace's backyard. Luckily I saw Neil's figure far in the distance as he entered a room, I rushed after him.
However, when I got inside this room. Neil was nowhere to be seen, in front of me was an empty control room.
